I just got a commission request and the client wants me to paint 100 old metal cadian guardsmen in about 3 weeks to 4 weeks. Is that even possible. He wants be to do woodland camouflage on them. So is that even possible?

Yep.

If you don't have a job, just crank them out.

If you do, prepare to kill your social life for 3 weeks.

paint five to ten a day.

If you just pace yourself it shouldn't be to much of an issue.

I painted 60+ Ork boyz in 3 days though not to the standard I would like but I needed my army ready for a tournament

So achievable if you've got enough hours to put in and can stick with it without going crazy.

Very doable - and the camo scheme actually makes it easier. For the basic steps you can do all 100 at once.

Prime. Basecoat in one camo colour. Randomly stipple another camo colour. Randomly stipple a third camo colour on top (mostly to cover any previous mistakes). Watered-down wash.

Basecoat flesh areas. Wash.

Basecoat packs, belts etc. Wash.

Basecoat metal areas. Wash.

completely agree with above post

this is how i paunt my tyranids ...
i base coat the skin color, drybrush the second skin color, and then drybrush the lightest hilight for the skin. and i do that 30-40 at a time
then i go back 10 at a time and paint in the details.. the joints...the claws...the carapace...all base colored and go back with stages 2 and 3 for them. i detail all of my miniatures. its a bad habbit

It pays off when you stand back and look at them though.

I'm surprised a commission painter isn't more aware of the skillset that he is selling.

Anywho, me and the roommate knocked out 50+ guard in about 5 hours total, to a pretty high standard.

You don't sound very confident, so I vote no.

As a customer if you agree to do it and fail Im not gonna be happy.

Again, I say no.

Absolutely, yes. If you prime in grey & then do a wash of gryphonne sepia as your base color for your fatigues you've got your shading already done, just add your camo colors & the armor color.

The thing is though I have painted groups of models before but never this much in such a small time span. I'm more then confident in my painting skills, but what I'm scared of is that he is expecting them to come out looking like my other models. (view my gallery) I'm just going to explain to him that they aren't going to be painted amazingly…(skin, camo, gun, armor, and maybe basing if he wants it.) BTW I'm a very new commission painter. Also how much would YOU charge? I was thinking $300 to $325?

It can be done. I can jam out a squad in a night.

1. assemble models
2. base coat in primary color (usually the flak armor)
3. paint the pants, sleeves
4. paint weapon
5. paint hands and face
6. touch up and wash application (if you do that)

It is pretty simple. Just start, get a system down, and crank them out.
