My 5 scouts got 3 dead bodies at initiative 4. Now the power fists go at initiative 1. I argue that since my majority ws is now 4 and no longer 3, my opponent power fist will need 4 to hit. He argues that such values are determined at the start of the assault.

So, do we recalculate to hit and to wound requirement at each initiative step?

Each Initiative step, don't have book so can't say where to find the actual rule.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Actually, once the 3 scouts died, you no longer had a majority weapons skill. If you had one scout and a scout sergeant left, you had one WS3 model and one WS4 model. At this point is when you use the highest, which is WS4.

At the beginning of combat is when you determine who can attack, not what they need to roll to hit. From my interpretation of the situation, once you got to the power fist, you would have to roll against the WS4, as there is no longer a majority and you must then go against the highest, according to the assault rules on pg. 37. Now it doesnt state that it goes in initiative order to determine what you need to hit, but it does state how to handle units with different WS. Use that as your guide when determining what WS to roll against. Hope that helps.

You're going to get violated, and your best bet is to go willingly to get it over with faster.

And on a totally different topic:

Resolve assault moves
Determine who can swing
Go in initiative order, following the standard WS vs WS, and then STR vs T
Then after INT 1, determine results.

Any time you roll to hit, you have to compare WS. In the situation above with two models alive, your highest is now 4, so he would compare his WS to your now 4.

Is that right?

I thought you determined results at each initiative level and removed models before proceeding to the next level?

He meant results of the combat - morale and fearless checks.
