So I've played two games with two similar lists, the first one consisted of 2 squads consisting of an overlord and 5 lords, all with warscyths, weaves, and mss, it also had a few other odds and ends (mainly 2 doomsday arks). The next one I dropped the arks and most other extra stuff and threw in 2 squads of 5 wraiths (3 whips). The first game I played against was daemons which I almost tabled my opp but he quit, the second was vs ba, in which I had a decisive victory.
In both lists I'm jumping the lords/overlords in ghost arks to go after whatever is the best/tactically sound.
Am I just rolling lucky or is this potentially a decent list idea?
*just a side note, my opp isn't an idiot either, we normally tie games or he barely gets a victory vs all of my armies (tau, nids, eldar, and crons).

If Bruce Lee is advocate and does kick someone between the legs in a fight, why would I be to good to do it?
My fighting style: Hit em hard, hit em fast, hit em where it hurts, hit em where they can't see you or hit back.
It's funny how everyone wants their opponent list to be fun to play against and yet their own playlists are often tough as nails and impossible to modify.-Q'iq'el on ATT

Well the Wraith heavy list has been discussed actually as the good old fashioned Necron Wraith Wing. It has been discussed fairly extensively in below thread;

Personally I think the lords are simply too expensive and singular wounds for the cost just are not worth it. You'd be better off supporting the Wraiths with heavy fire power.

Also mind shackle scarabs have similar diminishing returns as whip coils, many of the models you get into assault with will be in base2base with multiple lords so you run the chance controlling the same guy a couple times. No matter if he fails multiple leadership checks he only hits himself d3 times. Nice for a just in case the carnifex passes his 1st leadership check situation but terrible when a measly 4 ork boyz hit themselves as another 80 odd attacks plus a power klaw come down on your 400+ point 8 wound unit.

Yeah I have been considering a 'deathstar' unit but quickly discounted the royal court as just too damn expensive with no invul (or obscenely expensive with one). The idea I'm playing with at the moment is 5 sword and board lychguard w/2 lords (MSS, warsycthe 1 w/orb) and Obyron, and whilst yes this is expensive it seems to be a lot more survivable (and if you have nemesor around is even more capable). Ok so it's all theory hammer at the moment but I will build it and try it out.

Ive decently mitigated this by going in w a squad of wraith the turn before, lets me get in to who is best most times. I agree the lack of invulnerable is the only prob iv come across in 3 games, not the end of the world. But I'm thinking on how to incorporate some invuls in.

My brother used a squad of an overlord and 5 lords decked out in an Apoc battle and though they didn't kill much since they were walking, not a single one was ever removed from the board. As for what they did kill, those died always within a single assault round. MSS is some scary stuff.

I think 2 on a squad is fine, 3 with the character. 7 warriors, 2 mss lords, and the overlord in a ghost ark, or 5 sword/board lychguard with 2 lords is fine. You save points both ways for more stuff, including more wraiths or arks.

I agree that could be sufficient, but I'm trying to work the army of mss + scythes as the focal point Cus i think its cool.
Normally i load em up into a ghost ark and get a charge on whatever unit i want after i first charge them with wraiths so they don't consolidate in a way that hurts me. I make sure mss works on the normally one or 2 models (normally chars or mc) that are not dangerous not to cause them to hurt allies, but to eliminate any potential damage to me while my scythes eat face.
My wraiths are not too much to kill, but to mitigate damage (whips) and consolidation shinanagans by charging the turn before (they normally get there a turn before i can disembark and run, so they survive on their own pretty well)
