So I am painting Yuri the Axe and I am planning on painting the leather tunic and leggings in burnt umber a deep green-red based brown. Meanwhile the fur cloak will be in a Space Wolf Grey type color, what I am struggling with is what to highlight the burnt umber with, any thoughts?

It really depends, what brand of paint are you using? During my traditional painting days I've encountered different paint lines with paints of the same name but really really different hues. A photo would be nice.

Although at a guess, I'd say 50/50 burnt umber and burnt sienna. Basically it would go greener on the shadows, and redder on the highlights (via burnt sienna).

To throw the proverbial spanner in the works Yuri's pelt is a patchwork design of multiple animals. There are both Bears (possibly Polar, well, they are on mine ) and Wolves in the cloak, so the cloak tends not to look "right" as just one colour.

that is kind of what I was thinking as well, and since the guy is Khador, the red highlights would go well with the red theme.
