Hello everyone. After being on hiatus from the 40k scene from quite sometime I have decided (due in part to a escalation league occurring @ my store) that I want to get back into the mix of 40k. Now I have been an Imperial Guard Steel Legion player for a very long time (since I was in 8th grade?) and am quite tempted after game after game of getting tabled to start over from scratch as my Air Cav guard was doing nothing but getting slaughtered recently. Now with the release of the new books and models, on top of several attractive options I have narrowed down my options to those listed above (also lists I think would be fun to play, have even decided to break my trend of refusing to play as Space Marines), and if anyone can give me any experience as how to play these and/or sell me on why I should play them would be appreciated, thanks guys!

19th Krieg Siege Army 7500pts.
40k/HH Night Lords 5000pts.
Orks Waaaghmacht Spearhead 2500pts.

Orks are a great army. You'll have lots of fun painting, playing and especially converting them!

They're the "funny" aspect of 40k, and they can field lists that are competitive AND fun to play. Their randomness is awesome!

LOOK!! a shameless self-promotion! (gasp!)

Those are some very different list you put up.

Eldar Pathfinder/Ranger is gonna be a to build. Ancient pewter/failcast models throughout. Expensive and tedious. It'd be an original army, but I'd probably take something easier from a "hobby perspective" for a start.

Templar, Wolves and Orks are all "forward" in-your-face armies (in theory at least). SM Scouts and Guard less so. Wolves and Orks could give you the option to play add or substract some sneaky elements (Kommando's, Wolf Scouts) as you like it, though it likely will not be a main focus of the army.

Stay IG, bro. New codex gives us more options than ever, and Aircav is now actually viable, and really fun to boot.
