I've noticed that privateer plastic models are a little more rubbery and much more dense, a lot like board game pieces. It's pretty hard to clean up the mold lines with a knife as a result. Thankfully the mold lines tend to be in more accessible places.
Does anyone have any tricks to get these? I've been using a small file and it's a pretty good workaround, but I have a feeling some models are going to still give me trouble.

I have been having a lot of luck with two things. First I take a metal file and clean the area up, then I follow it up with a fine grit sanding stick and I fine that really cleans up the swarf well.
Although I use a fine pointed x-acto in addition. A fresh blade can shave those lines right off.
It can also slice straight through your thumb if you aren't careful.
Been there, done that, too.
