Does he get I4 or is he reduced to I1 since its a TH in close combat? i got smacked around big time the other day at I4 stikes on him.

It's supposed to be I1. Your opponent was cheating.

Edit: You know, I'm curious, what was his reasoning? No matter what he could have said would be wrong, but I'd just like to hear it.

Nothing in his profile suggests so. He's either gravely mistaken or cheating, probably the second.

I1. Nothing says it is a special TH in terms of striking at normal initiative, so it isnt.

Indeed! I would love to hit at I5 with lysander like his profile suggests, sadly because its a hammer he still hits at 1 :-(
