But, maybe I'm alone? What do you guys and gals think about paying for wallpaper?
Would you agree it'd be smarter to offer these as prints instead?

Misphrased the question, if I didn't mind that they were charging for wallpapers, then I'd be okay with paying for them. I do mind, which is why I'm not okay with paying for them! I'd be happy to buy them as prints then get a voucher to download it as a wallpaper or something, buy buying a big .jpeg isn't something I see myself doing.

I, too, will not be paying for a wallpaper. Especially not a wallpaper based off of any of the Black Library cover art.

I never understood BL cover art. It's clearly not meant to draw me in. It is successful, I've no doubt, but the target audience is someone other than me. I wouldn't put BL cover art on my computer even if it was free, to be honest.

I would never pay for wallpaper, and my wife would just say WTF and change it anyway.

I would not pay for wall paper, either. I have the Helsreach book cover for my wall paper at home. I got it for free from the Black Library; however, I can't seem to find it on there, now.
