So, after a meeting of the minds with friends over some new tactics for our codexs(codicies?), I came up with what I think is a pretty effective and devious tactic, so please let me know your thoughts.
Obyron can teleport his unit out of combat, and units that are in combat are all bunched up together, the DoomArks are awesome template weapons(see where I'm going with this? )
So the tactic is for Obyron and his unit(probably lychguard) to attack the opponents deathstar(or which ever unit I think needs to die but melee over a few turns wouldnt be worth it), they engage in combat, doing as much damage as possible(cleaving counter-blow FTW!) but the real key is to survive. Then, during my next turn, obyron teleports everyone out and then a DoomArk(or 2) wipes the no-longer-in-combat target off the face of the earth
Thoughts? Constructive-criticsims?

You are paying a lot of points for a gimmick, that may, or may not pay off, and the pay off is not that good.
Personally, I'm not fan of Obyron at all. I think he is too expensive for what he does.

I know that is the general consenus, I wish I could make some minor changes to him, but he's my favorite necron character and I am determined to find a way to share his glory to all of Dakka!

I suppose it can be done, but there are a few issues to consider:
1) You don't get swept in combat first.
2) You opponent gets a consolidation move to spread out.
3) Your doomsday arks are huge targets for ranged AT.
4) If Nemesor Zandrehk's unit gets assaulted, Obyron is leaving his squad.
5) Obyron and lychguards are slow. Who knows how long it would take for them to get into combat. And if you veil him towards the enemy, you risk them getting shot to death or assaulted by multiple units, thus increasing the chance for them to get swept.
Really, it's not a good tactic. It is mediocre at best. You need a lot of things to go right for you in order to pull this off.

...but it's freaking hilarious!!
btw, correct me if I'm wrong but if you're taking Obyron+Zahndrekhh(h) anyway, you could on a turn-by-turn basis decide whether to give any of your units (including, oh, maybe wraiths?) the "hit and run" special ability, then they could bail out of assault to a good viewpoint from which to watch the fireworks.
Because the hit-and-run move happens at the end of the assault phase, but after pile-in, you'd get the move-away during your opponent's turn, right after their assault and right before your boomers fired. (edit2: ie, same effect as start of our move?)
Regardless, dude, you pull the Obyron move at my house, you get a cold beer!
edit: but the wet blankets sound right re: effectiveness. <shrug>
edit2: sequence foobar.

I2 hit-&-run isn't so reliable. You only get out 1/3 of the time.
Also, the enemy unit still gets to consolidate.
