After doing an inventory of my vehicles, I noticed that I had one LR crusader, and 2 Storm ravens but could pick up another land raider cheap so kind of debating on what I want to do with myself.

Should I make a henchmen list with the storm raven as the liby/techmarine + DCA boats?

or should I use

the big heavy AV 14 metal boxes?

It'd be for a standard henchmen list with psybolt dreads as either ven or regular and of course a bunch of razorbacks/rhinos/chimeras as needed.

If you have enough points , LRR ( and add some ven dreads);
If not, SR ( and of course 3 psyflemen).

(BTW I prefer 5DCA + psybolt razorback. )

I haven't really considered the redeemer, (mostly cause I got my LR 's used and the hurricane bolters were glued on) but I could always take them down and glue on flame cannons. How does that work out? I'd imagine that anything that would die to the flame cannons would be easy prey for the DCA's anyway and I can move the LR and fire all the bolters as defensive weapons but the flamestorm would be considered heavy weapons as they are >str 5.

Usually, you need to move 12" :(
DCAs don't have fleet rule, they have only 2"+1"+1~6" assault range after disembark from the LR, so you do need to move the LR as close to your enemy as you can--always 12"
Atfer moving 12", you can fire only 1 weapon---and that's your only chance to shoot the LR's weapon, next turn it will be destroyed by melta weapons.

I will take a LRR + psybolt (250 pts), just to make the TL assault cannon S7, and it's still 5 pts cheaper than a naked LRC.

Don't worry, Draigo will protect you guys!

Another point to mention is that if your DCA's assault out of a Stormraven into cover, they'll go at Initiative 1 as they don't have Frag Grednades.

I'm almost tempted now to make some sort of crazy list with 2 SR + 2 LRR lol

Horribly inefficient I'd imagine but could be funny. Maybe some sort of 3k points apoc game.

well it's not as crazy as I'd thought actually. the 4 vehicles and cotez only costs 1400 (including 2 ven auto dreads for support). 4 squads of DCA aren't that bad at 15 pts a pop for a 10 man squad. 150*4 =600. So like 4 death stars at 2000? Could definately fun.

Landraider crusaders are terribad, you don't really need the capacity with death cult assasins. If you insist on running a land raider run a redeemer for the flamestorm cannons and if points allow put a multimelta on top.

Land Raider Pros
Land raider is AV14
provide assault grenades
flame storms cannons are ap3 and great for toasting marines.

Land Raider Cons
Takes up a heavy slot and competes with the cheap psyriflemen dreads
Is More expensive.
Slower can only move 12


I prefer storm ravens with multimelta and las cannon.

Storm Raven Pros
They are cheaper.
faster can turbo 24
You can turbo boast 24 and fire a multimelta at opposing heavy armor.
Mindstrike missles are actually useful sometimes against tervigons and pesky librarians who block your fortitude and provide small templates against closely bunched models without having to get in melta range as with a redeemers flamestorms.
Storm Ravens can also carry a venerable dread with a bs5 multimelta if you need to crack heavy armor.
You can take 3 of the cheaper heavy support psyriflemen dreads as the storm ravens take fast attack slots.
Storm Ravens can fly over terrain which can matter in terrain heavy slots.
Flies so provides a vantage point for shooting targets. This is also a con.

Only AV12 so dies faster then a land raider.
Flies so can be seen by anything most of the time and have to move fast for cover.

3 death stars is probably too many unless it is ardboys level.

If you are running Draigo or Libby + 5 paladins, I think SR are better choice --- even the SR been killed by enemy missiles, that squad can still survives after the rain of bullets and shoot / assault next turn.
But DCAs are different, these bad girls are just too weak against enemy s3/4 weapons. They do need an AV14 box to help them get into close combat....and of course, Frag Grednades

I think LRR are better than SR for DCAs.
