Great report, and the colour schemes/painting of both the armies was fantastic. Also good to see star engines being used to maximum effect.

Bit of a spoiler for turn 3 though. Must have mixed the editing up a bit as it ends up showing the bottom of turn 6.

oh no!! Sorry guys. I typically watch my vids before posting, but it was extremely late and I had to get up early for work. Sorry to spoil the game for everyone.

Good report as ever man, both really nice looking armies and really striking SM paint scheme.
Great report, well worth watching and a nice board, other than the last-turn/turn-3 hiccup, was well fun to watch. Cheers.

Hey thank you guys so much for the compliments. Its great now because most of the armies are completely painted and we're looking to provide a nice mix of battle reports. We're looking to start some battle missions, campaigns, as well as some apoc. battles. Stay tuned and thanks for the positive feed back....even when I do spoil the game on turn 3 haha

Cool report all around. As mentioned earlier, great use of Star Engines to block your opponent's movement and shooting. Definitely a surprise.

In Capture and Control missions, I think a DA squad foot slogging onto the table instead of starting embarked in you vehice would be beneficial. They can run onto the board and hide on your objective the whole game while you push hard with your tanks. It's another tank your opponent will have to deal with near his objective. You still have Fire Prisms that can try to block any units that get by.

Great report. Great to see painted infantry; I especially like how the FD came out.

Thanks for sharing.

your list is great besides star engines, which are a complete waste of points. There also isnt a "star engine phase", thats 4th edition. Star Engines now let you have 36", and they arnt another phase.

You play eldar correctly, keep them off the board, and then come in and hit something hard, good to see that.

As far as your over all army competition your missing alot of heavy hitting power. IMO an assault unit would help your army greatly, or DAVU units of 10, but thats just my opinion.

One problem I have with Mech Eldar like yours, is that without heavy hitting assault squads, you basically blow something up with ur 3 fire dragon squads, and hope that enough is around turn 6 to take objectives.

I prefer a more aggresive eldar, but your army works.

Smacking the crap out of Hive Fleet Leviathan.

Interesting paint schemes, especially the eldars. Nice job on the video, the only problem was when the game ended at 4:00, but kept going for 7 minutes.

Good looking armies and great report.

Well, the SM army should have been played in a defensive manner, keeping everything together and in cover when Eldar moved onto the board from reserve.

Hey guys thanks for the comments. Once again I am sorry I messed up the editing on this video. On another note, I do agree I need a little more punch in my army. For 2500 Points I'm going increase my DA squads to 10 just to get some extra shots in there. Also, could you please point out where it says Star Engines are now in the Movement phase and not in the shooting phase. The current FAQ from GW still says that star engines are used in the shooting phase and not the movement phase. If it is still in shooting, then I would have to disagree with you and say that star engines are a must upgrade for any vehicle that you have in your army.

Well, I never play with star engines as they are costly and negates shooting. I usually plan one or two turns ahead so that I don't miss them.

Star Engines are performed in the shooting phase as has been since this codex. The only clarification of late is the Eldar FAQ that states you cannot tank shock/ram using Star Engines (which is performed in the shooting phase).

Star Engines can and does serve a purpose, but I think you need to go into the game accounting for how to use Star Engines as they are an expensive upgrade.

Thats 100% correct. Star engines do serve a purpose, but you are right, it is one of those upgrades that you have to build your tactics around. Can it be done with out them? Of course, but I have been using them so long that I have really used them damn near every turn for 1 purpose or the other.
