Looks pretty cool to me, though if I was going to do it I'd use a larger RC plane just so I can fit on extra gear

A Kondor Models Cessna 337 would be ideal, although it has been discontinued they are still pretty easy to find. A kit cut for the Hostetler Skymaster in about 33% size would also be great I'd probably glas or monocote it rather than sheeting it.
The pusher/puller design let's you over power the hell out of the airframe without messing the CG up and it's sturdy enough to take on a very heavy useful load. Good wings, slow stall speed, and a nice large wide body to use for payload.

You know...if I wanted to dabble in the great unknown of UAVs.
