Moondrakken - sounds to me like a one-man multi-charge, or is it?  [RSS] Share on facebook Share on Twitter Submit to Reddit

Khan's Moondrakken allows him to run in the shooting phase and assault (the bike gives fleet). So Khan can take off the squad in the movement phase and charge somebody should he find it fitting.

But, he gives Furious Charge + Hit and Run for the squad he is with. Either way, I am not maxing out on his ability.

So what is YOUR tactics for using Moondrakken/White scar?

Use a normal biker Captain or stick Kor'sarro with a unit of assault terminators.

I'm both orderly and rational. I value control, information, and order. I love structure and hierarchy, and will actively use whatever power or knowledge I have to maintain it. At best, I am lawful and insightful; at worst, I am bureaucratic and tyrannical.

I find passive aggressive messages in people's signatures quite amusing.

I like to stick him with a couple different units of bikes. Allow Kor'sarro to be in a position to charge up to help either unit depending on need. use Hit and run to your advantage to get the charge as often as possible. Never leave combat after your own assault phase as its not reliable to be able to get far enough away to not get charged on ur opponents turn. I've heard of success running him next to a command squad on bikes and am in the progress of building my own command squad to run him in.

I love Khan in my bike army! All i ever see on here are people saying "take a Biker Captian" but by the time they're done listing all the Wargear he cost as much, if not more than, Khan without being as useful, in my opinion.
You should almost always Outflank as much as your army as is tactically sound because this is the main reason to take Khan and Outflanking is very effective with the right units.

I personally like using Khan with a Command Squad on bikes with Lightning Claws and Storm Shields. They cut their way through most things and are tough to kill with a 3+/3++ Sv and Feel No Pain. Khan also has the chance to cause Instant Death which can be very useful.

Peace Out!
Jonny!
