Hey everyone,

I had started a thread a while ago but it got muttled up with cruddy pics and such. Here are 4 out of 5 of a Deathwing terminator squad I have had for a long time. I re-painted, re-based, and added some more details to them. Hopefully now they look up to par. This was my first time I achieved a pretty decent look with white armor (I suck at painting white) but I think they turned out OK for being re-painted etc. I'll purchase new models if/when a new Dark Angels codex comes out. For now, these are what I got. Remember to click if you want a bigger pic and for zoom etc. Comments are always appreciated.

Now for some close-ups

This one is a little blurry for some reason.

Same here

Anywho, there are the boys in white. I am working on redoing some Ravenwing bikers as well so wish me luck. I pretty much need to just drill all their barrels, and edge highlight and maybe base (although there's not much to base)

They are very white. I like the work ! Are the shoulders free handed ?

Yes the shoulders are free-handed. I painted them Ok the first time and went back and crisped them up.

And yes I went for white bc the old school deathwing pics were them in all white and I wanted to challenge myself. I usually see them with the bone or barely off-white color. I wanted BONE WHITE like they are described. Not BONE TAN haha. Also, Native American ash war paint was white IIRC, not tan.

Here's is a new update!

I finished my squad sergeant with banner and chainfist. Let me know what you think. The base didn't turn out quite as well as I had hoped, but I like the bolter and casings. Helps distract from the semi-cruddy basing. I was trying out the new texture paints (which I love) but am still not totally used to them yet.

Also, I tried to make the skin tone go from a black/African skin tone to a more Native American/Hispanic brown tone, as if the battle brother had been recruited from Plains World. Let me know what you think. It looks a little bit lighter and redder in person. It was hard to find a skin tone that was tan, not black, and also didn't look sun burnt but had a little bit of that Native American red/copper tone to it. Let me know what you think on the skin etc. If it bugs me too much I may go change it.

Of course, all comments and such are welcome on any part of the model

The base has been painted grey on the rim, this is just an older photo from before I did so. I apologize for the mediocre picture quality.

Whoever it belonged to certainly messed with the wrong terminator... Lovingly painted in the scheme of my friend, Vladsimpaler's, Chaos marines.

PS - Ceramite White is the greatest thing to grace my painting table... it makes all whites SO much easier. A chorus of angels should sing every time it opens ahaha.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I will hopefully be posting some new Ravenwing ASAP, need to go do some highlighting and basing etc.

Yeah gotta agree with the comments on the white, it looks suberb. How did you get it so clean and bright?

Thanks! Well, I messed up my previous deathwing and re-painted them. Originally they were a blurry mess:

as such...

Then i coated them pretty thoroughly in devlan mud (miracle) and got the highlights really deep. Then I went over, VERY carefully, every large white surface with a few layers of skull white, usually thinned down. On the sgt, I used the new Ceramite White foundation paint and it is FANTASTIC. Any brush strokes etc I went over again with a layer of skull white and it was all good. You just have to be very delicate, but having the model basically done already, I just had to re-do the white, as it is really the only difficult color for me.

I did a lot of touching up and highlighting as well, especially on the gold and bone. They had seen many a battle before I repainted them.

Glad you like them

You can see the Chaplain Dreadnought in my gallery too. He is their support for the most part.
