I wanna learn more about the scythes of the emperor. Any books or info on their primarch, leaders or anything like that out there?

There isn't much on them to be honest beyond what is here.... http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Scythes_of_the_Emperor#.T1xW-nlGGgY

I think they are an Ultramarines successor so their primarch would be Roboute Guilliman.

I heard a lot of them were inducted into the Deathwatch...

Weren't they wiped out to a company by the tyranids?

There's a short story in one of the "of the space marines" books, Victories of the space marines I think it was.

But the scythes were pretty much destroyed by the Tyranids, and, iirc, the Sable swords chapter was founded to replace them.

Currently though they still do exist according to a Wiki I found.

There are 100 remaining members though. So like the crimson fists or other dying chapters they are out there but small. I just wanna know if there is any reading material about them is all.

It was actually in the "Legends of the Space Marines" and the story is called Orphans of the Kraken. Just if the OP wants to read it, for a little fan knowledge.

i heard after there home world was destroyed by the nids, most of the marines were killed, the chapter master or whoever was left in charge gave up a number of marines to the death watch in exchage for a bunch of geneseed.

In the old Tyranid Attack boardgame, whenever your space marine scouts encountered cocoons on the hive ship, there was a chance Terminators or a Librarian from Scythes of the Emperor would pop out and help you fight.

Sotha was unfortunate to be in the path of Hivefleet Behemoth somewhere between Tyran and Macragge. It could be speculated that the Ultramarines have the Scythes to thank for their continued existence.

You can't spell 'slaughter' without 'laughter'.
By the time they scream... It's too late.
