So ive played pretty much every army in one way or another and i really dont know what army i want to do next. This may be my last army for a long time because im quite serious with my girlfriend and need to start saving for a ring so i can afford another army but this will be about it for awhile. I want your opinion. I play for fun normally and against my brother and a few freinds. I dont play to seriously but just for fun. Whats yalls opinion. I will be leaving this up for a couple of months while im still at school and will take these into account when i choose. Note: if i forgot an army feel free to tell me and i will add it. I left space wolves out because i just finished an army of them. Thanks!

It would help to know what you have now as your main army(ies). I say something none of your friends have!

Without any idea what you like, what your playstyle is, and what you want this new army to do for you, I cannot give a recommendation at this time.

I can say if you have a versatile army, and a shooting army, perhaps a melee focused one is on your menu.

If you're on a budget with that ring, build a little Grey Knights Force. They are also quite a lot more fun than spammy Dark Eldar.

GK's can be built on a budget. If you looking to play all terminators or paladins then it is fairly cheap (especially if you can find some used metal ones to bring down the cost). GK codex has a variety of builds besides the standard coteaz spam, crowe spam, and draigo wing. Those builds just happen to be the best as far as competitive gaming goes but who does that!

Nah. Grey Knights are crazy good to build on a budget, especially if you start with Paladins (which you can demote to Terminators as you expand if you like).

10 Paladins with some gear + Draigo will clock in at 900 points easy. That's 2 Termy-Boxes and Draigo going for GBP 70,50 off the GW website, cheaper obviously through discount, etc.. .

Add a 5-man box regular PAGK as a second Troop Choice for diversity, perhaps with a Razorback. That's GBP 41,- straight off the GW website and brings you up to well over 1000 points (it would be even cheaper if you stick with all-Terminators obviously).

Buy another 5-man box of PAGK to use as Purifiers or Intercepters, and perhaps a Dreadnought or Dreadknight for a total of GBP 53,50 for the more expensive Dreadknight options, again straight off the GW website, and you're struggling to have it all in a 1500 point list.

That's an 1500 point army for GBP 165,- straight from GW, probably under GBP 150 from discounters, and it wasn't even trying much to squeeze the best money-per-point ratio from the list.

And if you already have some bits and Marines at home, induct some Tech-Marines, re-paint some Rhinos, Landraiders, Dreads, etc.. and it'll go alot farther.

But woudlnt the modle count be really low? I mean im looking for budget but i feel that really limits what my possibilites are with that kind of army. Plus im really looking for a 2250 army cause thats what me and the people i normaly play with play.

With Paladins in the mix, yes. It will be a very low model count. That's precisely what makes it cheap. With some gear, those guys can clock in at over 60 points a model. And you get 5 in a box for under GBP 30,- .

More models (that is, cheaper models in the list) by and large make an army more expensive to buy almost by definition.

You can build a more numerous Grey Knight Army. You can build a more numerous force with other Codexes. But it's gonna cost more. Nature of the Beast really.

Anyhow. Another fair money-saver could be Necrons. Their Battle-Force is really good to get started. Two of those and a Command Barge will have you started with a sizable force on a budget in no time. And it'll by and large be more numerous than Grey Knight or, infact, most Marines.
