Okay, I'm planning on buying two new figures: the Dark Elf Sorceress plastic and Isabella von Carstein. I tire of painting power armor and painting lots of hair, flesh and cloth would be a good change of pace.

So questions:
1) Any photos of Dark Elf Sorceress conversions? I've seen quite a few on the 40k-ed Dakka gallery that are awesome, but alas I couldn't find them and using the search function has yielded me no results. If you can post links here it would be great (especially the one where the staff was replaced by a sniper gun and one where her hand IS the gun).

2) The Isabella von Carstein figure... is it good? My real problem is that it's Finecast and some of the ones I saw in CMON had slightly droopy faces.

Thanks in advance!

Having seen the finecast Isabella up close, I actually like it. It's quite a good sculpt and the resin does it justice. I also saw no visible casting flaws on it, though it's not the most complex of sculpts.

I just picked up the plastic Sorceress, but am not doing any conversion on her. A wonderful model though, wish they could all be so well done.

I agree, I converted my sorceress into a herald for my Daemons but overall it was a nice kit.

Any chance you know the users who converted Dark Elf Sorceress figures described on my OP? I was thinking of making it right into 40k and I'm looking for inspirations.

Not a clue, most of the time I've seen it it is just the base model with perhaps a staff change. But, if you can find the image in the gallery, it has their user name towards the top right or should unless they entered the info for the picture wrong when they uploaded it.

Problem is that i don't think it was tagged properly. i've tried "dark elf" "sorceress" "conversion", even "inquisition" and "inquisitor" keywords. Nada. It makes me a sad kitten.

Check out the "Pimp My Wizard" competition...it was a P&M mini competition a while back and there was some amazing Dark Elf Sorceress conversions.
