So, how many players do we have here in Boulder? I know there are occasionally games over at Karliquin's...

My crew is all in Boulder or surrounding areas and there are three of us.
Orks, SM, and Eldar
Played 1750 at Karls last Saturday (Mar 24th). We were the only 40k players there.

@matphat: I live in Thornton but work in Boulder on the weekends. What time do you guys play on Saturday nights? I might be tempted to bring my army to work and then swing by afterwards. I have 1500 pts semi-painted tau with some Forgeworld stuff if that's cool (see gallery). I'm a bit rusty tho..

Well, to be honest, we hardly ever play at the shop.
It's more out of desire for a quiet playing environment than anything else.
Karl's gets pretty loud on Saturdays.
If you like, we could try and set up a day to meet.
Maybe a Saturday evening so that Coy could make it too?
I'm looking at my calendar and it would probably not be till the first weekend of May, but I'd be able to do it then.

That might work since school would be wrapping up around then...let me know. I could probably be there anytime after 5PM and I'm just over at Airport & Valmont, so not far from Karl's. After that we can meet at other places.

The first weekend in May would actually work wonderfully. I would have my army actually fully assembled by then!

I'm 26, been playing about 13 or 14 years.
I have Iron Warriors, Deathguard, World Eaters, and Traitor Guard for 40k
I have Slaaneshi Daemons for Fantasy.

I'm 40, playing for a year and a half, mostly a casual player, but with a little bit of competitive tendencies.
The other guy you'll be meeting is in his thirties. Great guy, good player, casual like me.
I play Orks, and he plays Blood Angels and some times Ultras.
We have a third who usually shows up for games in between semesters and he's mid thirties and plays Eldar, more fluffy and casual like us.
I'm about 70/30 modelerpainter/gamer.

Now that I know I'm not waaaay older than the others:

I'm 45, I've only managed a half dozen games in my 10+ years in the hobby due to being friends with guys who mostly paint. I have a Tau army that is 35% Forgeworld (TX-42s and Fusion Cannons) but will work on making it more "codex" this summer. I plan to branch out to SM and GK down the road so I can have a close combat army to offset the shooty Tau. I've spend a lot of the time over the past years getting my resin casting down. I actually do commission casting for artists and some RPG game designers.

Yeah, the age thing can be a problem. I make a point not to play with anyone stillin their teens.
Just too much for my middle aged sensibilities.

Cool. I've got a ton of FW stuff for my traitor guard. I love Forgeworld's chaos range. I'm really hoping they make it codex with the 6th ed book.

If he can't make it, how would the two of you feel about the last weekend of May?

Last weekend of May would be equally okay, maybe better. BTW if we find Karl's is too small or too loud would you guys be open to maybe Total Escape Games or Hobby Town on Wads? TEG has WH40K on Thur and Fri, HT has a league going on Saturdays. I talked to the guy at HT and apparently they have access to an entire out of business carpet store a few doors down. The league is escalation 1000/1500/2000 but sounds very laid back. Just some thoughts. I'm still down for Karl's at least the first time.

Hey guys, I noticed you both mentioned having FW stuff.
I really don't mind you using it in our games.
Unless it's crazy Apoco. rules stuff, obviously.
I warn you though. I have no FW at all.

Just TX-42s and Fusion Cannons on the hammerheads. The list I have is cheesy and designed for Space Marines...against orks it'll probably be terrible, haha. I plan to build more stuff so I have traditional codex options.

Well, the Orks love it when someone is terrible against them, doesn't happen often in this SM dominated world.

Looks like Death and I will be meeting at noon and getting in the first game. 1500 pts.

It depends on how long the first game takes, I have an appointment to make at 4:30 on Lee Hill. Of course, if I lose, it won't be a problem at all!
As for FW, the only thing I have that's regular 40k sized is a contemptor dread. All the rest of my stuff is conversion stuff or Apocalypse sized.

Yeah, 12 till 4 is going to be frantic!
I'll do my best Death, to play a fast game, but Horde armies are terribly slow to move around the table.
I'll take a break when Death leaves at 4, and be ready for another round when you show up at 5.

I looked at the htdemocorps site-- looks like a great environment to play in. Once I get out of school, I may be able to head over there some weeks.

I'm actually headed over there next Thursday at 6PM and I'll let you guys know how that goes. I hear they have ~7 guys who show up at the same place but its not the league...just gaming. Man, I wish I didn't work Saturdays.

My guess would be that the league resets in the fall after taking a month or two off. I believe they have a tournament coming up in a few weeks. I'll ask about that when I'm there.
