Looking to expand my caster base for Highborn, and keep running into Fiona. Her feat seems very similar to Ashlyn's.

I also have to wonder if the Longgunners might actually work with here better than any other caster if you can drop an Affliction on a target then hit it with double firing longgunners. Highshields would be another option, but I think the Lgs win out due to range.

35 point list has me pondering something like this.

Fiona
-Nomad
Full Longunners
Full Nyss Hunters
min horgenhold
Deck Gun
Eryiss
Carvolo
Gorman

That gives me a couple stealth targets to Mark, two decent shooting units to allow for "upkeep Affliction/shoot/recast Affliction/shoot". A couple weaponmaster units for hth that makes it through. Carvolo might get swapped for Sylys.

Thoughts? Experiences?

Pondered some things.

Came up with this instead. Mostly because it means I don't have to buy longgunners

I can't help you much with fiona as I'm yet to use her on the table (after Gencon is the plan) but this article appeared today:

I would generally warn away from Long Gunners. While they pour out an impressive amount of firepower while stationary, their accuracy drops precipitously when they move. They are slow, fragile AND expensive, making them not well suited for scenario play.

I find in general, the gun mages to be a more consistent (if weak POW) firebase, and their high DEF makes them generally more survivable against direct attacks. Thunderbolt shots alows for more flexibility in-game as well, and their UA is invaluable against stealth.
