I'm going with a bone colour scheme for some knights and wanted it to look polished and well taken care of. After all if chaos knights would be anything it would be proud, especially Tzeentch knights. Anyway I have tried a couple of schemes out today and wondered if people could give me some advice and tips on improving and choosing between the two for a polished bone look.

Throwing in my $0.02 I like the yellow/brown for the bone. The blue looks great, but to my mind seems more Ice/frost daemon.

I had to clean my glasses, then re-looked. Only the first picture tints out blueish, the others are grey/black. (at least on my monitor)

Still the yellow/brown. Looks more bone-like to me.

I like the yellow black but I think the white / black might look stronger on a unit.

For shine, you could gloss them.

my vote's for the the yellow/brown look.

I'm assuming that's something like bleached bone washed with gryphonne sepia or similar. if you want it to look well-cared for, maybe use less of the wash and/or touch up the bone color so the shadows are very thin and neat. a satin or gloss varnish, like c9805222 suggested, might also help.

I'll play around with it and see how that one looks. They're going to be finished with red or blue runes done to look glowing so possibly may go for the white on knights for a better contrast, but going to keep the more cream bone for the banshees. My bug dilemma just now is go for the traditional bone, or go old school white for the Deathwing

Hey dude if you are wanting a nice polished bone effect look at this site.

I think the polished ivory look would would really well with them.
Also if you are wanting it to look like the armour is actually made from bone, you should consider that it would be very hard to repair. Even if they did look after it well, it would still get damaged in battle, chips and cracks would really add to the realism.

Nice touch! I'll see what I can do for damage before spraying them Thanks for that one.

I vote for the left one. The "brown" bone.
