If you are like me you have too much ADD to watch video Batreps, but please if you like Infinity or are interested in Infinity, watch this one. Fantastic video editing, no rambling, just clean cut walkthrough of what is going on with beautiful terrain to boot.

The poster at Infinity's forum's comments
"Hello,

So after not playing Infinity for what seems like ages, I had a day full of games. For the last battle we ran a quick 150 point game. We set up a 2x4 board to represent a small village on the planet of Shentang.

The scenario was that a small Ariadna force of Highlanders was sent to investigate a warehouse that was believed to be holding a Teseum smuggling operation.

The house rules were that since it was a Yu Jing province they could deploy an additional 6 inches past the starting zone. Also if any figure shot through one of the bamboo forests it was -3 to the BS skill.

The game went surprising quick (seemed long since we were taking photos and videos). It only took two full turns, but it was a lot of fun. Honestly it had some of the most memorable moments of the day.

Here is the batrep of the game."

Some shot of the table used...

Excellent Batlle report. I did enjoy this very much. The battle was easy to follow and understand.

BUT...

Why CB has not done one of this yet? They did some great rules tutorial videos with Beasts of War... Now it's time to see a battle full of FX!

Maybe it is just because I have not played the game yet, but I found it quite confusing to follow

Some kind of explanation of each move might have helped. Though I understand it is not a tutorial.

Play a single game and it'll make perfect sense. Basic flow of the game:

- You have one order for each order granting "regular" model you have in your combat group. So is a typical game you will have 8-10
- Each order will allow you to activate a model and the same model can be activated more then once.. hell you can use all your orders on the same guy.
- The spend of an order will allow you to preform 2 short movement skills, 1 short skill + 1 short movement skill, or 1 longskill. (IE move/move, move/shoot, move/discover)
- If your opponent has Line of Fire (Line of Sight) to you model while it preforms it's order it can respond with an Automatic Reactive Order (ARO).
- Movement skills and most short skills can be used in ARO (chart is available), so you can shoot, dodge, discover etc as a response.
- Once all skills and AROs are declared, rolls happen. If two skills directly interfere with each other you preform a Face to Face roll (FtF roll) where you both are trying to meet or be under the nubmer you need to hit, but want to be higher then the other player. (IE you shoot me and I shoot you, FtF of BS Attributes modified by things like cover and weapon range)
- After rolls are made, take any Armor or Guts checks
- Next order

That is the basics

So at 2:30 one of the models activates and spends an order to Move+Move then another order to Move up to the corner of the building for cover and attempted to discover. His discover attempt was against the TO Camo marker (The Shinobi) so it was at a -6 modifier, but he was within 32" so there is a 0 modifier for range. The Shinobi didn't respond with an ARO hoping he would wiff the discover, which he did getting an 11 on a modified WIP of 7. The TO camo model stay a marker and isn't discovered.

That is the basic rundown of that first 2 orders.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Just to note while that seems incredibly confusing in text it is literally this.

A "I'm burning an order to move move up this way, nothing can see him can they?"
B "Nope"
A *Moves model up*
A "K next I'm goign to move up to this corner here, any AROs?"
B"Nope, bring it on"
A"K second part will be discover on your TO marker. I'm obviously outside 8" and inside 32" so 0 mod for that, so simply a -6 for TO on my WIP 13."
B"go for it Ariadna scum"
A *rolls an 11* "Crap wiffed it"
