Hi folks,

Today I finished this Killa Kan, wich is the first model I used sponge weathering on. After some touchups I was soon happy with the result, and I now consider it done.

I dislike Goffs, so guess why the unlucky ork on the ground is wearing black......

LOOK!! a shameless self-promotion! (gasp!)

Looks good. I have to admit I don't know what "sponge weathering" entails, but I think you got a good effect.

Looks good MrMerlin. I really like the weathering. If im correct, you take a sponge, and dip it lightly in to the paint, then apply it to corners and such to add a chiping effect? I really like it, but why is an ork killing an ork??

@Vulkanshammer: Thank you! Sponge weathering is very easy, just rip a chuck off your kitchen sponge and use that to subtly dab paint on the model. After that you only have to touch up the places where the heaviest weathering will happen with a lighter color.
@Imperial Renegade: thank you! Why Orks kill each other? Well, because they are are Orks! They can't get along very well, especially if they are from different clans!
@thesilverback: Thank you as well! Yes, I will keep stomping Goffs! WAAAGH!

Well done. The mini has lots of character. I really like the yellow too with the material underneath poking through.

@Great White, n0t_u and Barksdale: Thank you very much!

Here is another photo I took yesterday evening. It shows the crappy modeled guts I made over a year ago in sweden, when I had just started wargaming. I would have redone the GS, but I didnt bring any to france -_-

MrMerlin nice work dude. You're very good at your weathering...I too have been looking into the mysteries of the sponge

One thing though, I'm not that up on the fluff so might be wrong here...but isn't Ork blood green? And therefore wouldn't their insides be green too?

@Trondheim: Thank you very much for the comment!
@Ghostflame: Thank you very much as well! Ork blood.... I'm pretty sure its red, mostly because everyone else paints it red.... also, the red gives the goff some needed contrasts

Well I think it depends on from where you get your information..... some say its green, others say its red.... and other dont bother what the rest says and paint their orks blue..... lol

but I might actually try to paint the guts on some other ork in a bright green, just to see how it looks!

Or an ichor yellow that contrasts with the green of their skin?
Orks fighting each other is very appropriate because they have always seemed very Celtic IMO. The strongest tribe wins cuz dey hit harder!

Sponge weathering you say?

Well now, that'd go perfect with the thin acrylics I have.
I'll be trying this out when I get round to building my Landraider.

Consider me inspired :3

Just to settle the Ork blood thing, the really old fluff said that Ork blood was green, but they decided it didn't work, so they changed it. Incidentally, Ork blood is often described as almost black.

@Zariart: Thanks for the comment! Yes, yellow might work, but I'll stick to red..... and yes, in that aspect, Orks are very celtic!
@Knights Abhorrent: Thank mate! Inspired you say? Cool!
@Squigsquasher: Thanks for the info!
