Hi everyone, starting this blog to keep me motivated and get some responses for my WIP Ork Badmoonz army. I'm planning to scratchbuild as much of it as possible. Constuctive critism along the way would be GREAT!!

To start this here is my converted Big Mek with KFF and Kustom mega blasta. I apologise for the lack of base and the need of a pen to hold him up.






And an incredibly blurry picture of a WIP Grot oiler.


I currently have a mob of grot tanks and an 'Ardcase, Armour plates trukk.

I'm liking where that Mek has gone. He looks pretty techy now.

Very crisp paint job. All in all an excellent model. I have big respect for anyone painting bad moonz. Yellow paint is so difficult to work with.

Thanks for the comments, yellow can be a to paint sometimes.

I got my first of hopefully 9 grot tanks painted.... I tried some wethering techniques on this one, on the next I think there will be some more yellow.




and the next is nearly completed sans rivets





Sadly I am out of plasticard, but I just bought a whole bunch of it on Ebay so it should be hopefully here soon.

Update time!!

Found some Nobz that my brother got a while ago and 'borrowed' them.....

I have about 8 of these to paint, 3 with power klaws and 5 with Big choppas.

Something happened when I took the picture, the mouth is actually well defined and not as bright near the bottom.

Just saw the wash blob, ill fix it soon.

I got bored with a day off and made this count as Nob, whatch think?

I'm liking the monowheel Ork also Those Grot tanks are Fantastic.
And as for those borrowed Nobs...I also kinda did the same thing with my brother...
except I paid him $30 for all his stuff when it was worth a bit more.
However the paint was a little thick on some of the minis and others were badly assembled ect...

Great stuff! MY Fiancee has just started an Ork army up so its nice to have some threads to look at for inspiration. Those grot tanks are very nice

Got the grot tank finished and some work done on the nobs.

BTW these nobs have 2 choppas counting as a big choppa.

I'm liking that last grot tank, but I think the imperial Eagle should be scratched off.
Orks wouldn't want a Umie symbol on their krumpin tanks.
It I'd also not really dirty enough for an Ork tank.
I like where those Nobs are going.

Thanks for the comment Poo, the light and the flash makes the pic a lot brighter than it really is, its actually quite dark.

The eagle did get a lot of damage done to it but because of the boltgun metal, its hard to tell.

BTW, why do you always seem to edit your comments before I can get to them?

Lighting kills some photos. The Grot tank did look a tad light compared to the other one. Maybe this gave it the 'clean' look.

I'd think the orks would try to scratch the Eagle off rather than paint over it. Then again they are quite lazy!

Update time, got my plasticard! 5 a4 sheets so I got alot.

I found and old snap together american halftrack model and my orky mind went, I see a trukk in dat..........

So here it is, just the rivets to go.

How big is the halftrack kit (scalewise)?
What kit was it from?

Haha! I just set aside three of those Lego engine parts just for a project like this! I'm really curious to see how well it ties in when painted. Trukk looks really fantastic!

@ Flying Poo - Scalewise its a 1:32 and is onlys slightly longer than a GW trukk.

@ Sentinel -Thanks, it will be interesting to see your version!!! BTW I really like your Skorchawagon, i was thinking of getting the kit you used and making a Mek boy Junka. From memory the half track kit I used is the same brand as the M3 you used.

YESS! A mega-dread build! I've always wanted to make one of these. Build on, with my blessing! Weld metal, shoot rivets, make gunz! Come forth with thy mek creation!

Got a box of Boyz, spent a bit of time converting and making sure they dont all look the same.

The nob, heavy weapon and normal ork. The nobs power klaw was made open instead of closed and some shoulder armour was made, heavy weapon guys is pretty stock and the normal guy just has a chainsword.


All pretty normal except for the "explosive Expert".


And the frumpy lot, just another chainsword guy.

Painting shall begin soon, but for now still working on the Mega dread.

It's great how just a little extra effort and time can make a boring squad of Boyz into an awesome characterful squad of Boyz.

Found the tracks of a chimera the other day and thought i could get a Looted wagon out of it, currently it still needs rivets but it is mostly done.

I also found something that disturbs me... The nob from the boys set is a dwarf to the ones from the nob box. The one from the nob box is alot more muscular and bulky.


I also got a couple more nobs painted, wondering if anyone would want a tutorial on how i paint the skin for armour?

I like the Chimera wagon. Great use of the targeters on the scopes. It's not like they will do much difference to the Orky shooting.

And the Nobz in the Boyz box have always been smaller than the real Nobz...

And a tut would be nice. Maybe I can have a new favourite Ork skin recipe...
