Hey Dakka, welcome to my new thread. This thread will showcase my Orky Terrain. I am aiming to make a whole Orky village which will consist of; - 3 Watch Towers ( 1 finished 2 not yet started) - 2 Fortified Towers ( not yet started) - 1 Water Tower ( not yet started) - 1 Fuel Tower ( not yet started) - 6 Barricades ( not yet started) - 3 Boyz Huts ( not yet started) - 1 PIMP Warbuss Hut ( not yet started) - 1 PIMPIN Mek Garage ( not yet started) - 1 DOW Style Power Generator ( not yet started) - 4 Junk Piles ( not yet started) I will possibly also make; - 1 Squig Pen ( not yet started) - " DA DROPS" Any guesses what that will mean? ( not yet started) - 1 Giant Waaagh Sign. ( not yet started) - 1 Landing Pad ( not yet started) - An Orky Fence around the whole compound ( not yet started) Along with this set I will make 4 funny Ork Objectives. Here are the Ideas I have; - 1 Giant Squiggoth Turd that has DA BOSSES FAVOURITE SHOOTA buried within its smelly depths. ( finished) - 1 "Da Spanna in Da Stone" every Mek's Wet Dream. ( not yet started) - 1 Mek Device that has a big red button that says "do not press". ( not yet started) - 1 Underground secret entrance with a sign above it that reads "nuffin ta see ere". (This Idea is not my own I have seen it done many times before). ( not yet started) - 1 Da Warbosses Diary. Possibly I will have a Space Marine or a sneaky Grot sitting down and reading it, laughing their heads off. ( not yet started) I already have sketches of all the pieces I want to make, but I will probably come up with more ideas and add them to the list.  Here goes. My first piece. An Orky Watch Tower           WIP pics When I finish everything I want to sell the whole set. Quick Question: How much would you guys and gals pay for a whole set like this? The usual C&C is appreciated! I am open to all suggestions and Ideas. Thanks for looking!

Yes I know, but assuming It was all completed to the same standard. Approximately how much then? Better yet; How much for just the watch tower?

Make no mistake, I like the watchtower.....
But is is made with balsa wood and a GW cardboard box.
Most people would see it as an inspiration, and make their own.
if you desire a monetary gain you need to up the detail level or (as you have planned) make a boatload and sell it as a set.
Perhaps making your own standard features, like vision slits, hatches, wall-sections and ork markings, and then casting them, would speed up the build time and increase your gain.

Thanks mate,
I thought that that it might be a 'problem', me inspiring people to make their own terrain instead of buying mine. However I want to inspire people hense the WIP pics.
But it took me 2 hours to make that and paint it. Some people are too lazy or just don't have the time. So there may be some buyers there... I am also selling it en masse, so that helps too.
However I am not looking for a monetary gain, I just find making terrain fun. I don't expect HUGE amounts of money.
I will be looking into making them more detailed. And casting is a great idea! I will see what I can come up with.

Casting your own little features really speed things up.
I made my own vision slit and bunker door, for example, and casted them in resin.
Then I raided my local TV appliance store for all the flamingo/foam corners from flat-screens that I could get my hands on.
A few hours, and some texture paint, later I had a buckets worth of bunkers to sell cheaply in sets.

May I ask what you how you went about making these said casts?
Apart from the instamould stuff I'm new to casting. I have seen various tutorials on casting including Blackhand's one here on Dakka, but I myself have never given it a go, it has just seemed too time consuming and expensive. Is there an easier and cheaper way?

Easier and cheaper? Not to my knowledge.
I use silicone moulds and cast in resin like all the other guys out there. Blackhand's tutorial is excellent and so are the many other ones of YouTube.

I have been doing a lot of research on casting before I continue this project.
Although I have started making some of the things that I believe will take more effort to cast then to just scratch build.
Even then I can't make too much progress because I'm out of super glue. 
I have a Fortified Tower about 25% done but it's not worth showing at the moment.
I also have some other things on the go that I will keep secret for now...
As I have 3 SACs still to do this week I can't do much now. I should really be studying. 
Expect many updates in the next couple weeks I have all the time in the world then.

It's time for a long overdue update but it's a crappy one Sorry for promising updates but not delivering. I was too busy working on my ultramarine Army for a tournament; http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/380047.page but now since I'm pretty sure the Tournament is cancelled (the store that was hosting it was closed down ) I have more time to work on this. Today I've done nothing that great. Just an objective. I'm still looking into casting... Not too sure I'll do it any time soon, but it's definitely in planning for the future... Here is the Giant Turd Objective Marker      Ok that's it for now. I'll update this when I can.

Why thank you! Today I was skimming all of the tutorials and stuff on http://www.terragenesis.co.uk, and then I realised that they had a forum. After all the times I've been on there I can't believe I have only found it now. It's needles to say that I joined... I saw that they had competitions like this one... http://www.terragenesis.co.uk/forum/viewforum.php?f=45&lp=85484. I'm entering the one above... The theme is Transportation. So I decided that I'd make a Orky Petrol Station. Here are some rough planning sketches...    The Petrol Station will also have a Coffee shop .  This mini Coffee cup will serve as the basis of the Coffee shop.  The whole thing will rest on a Concrete Slab. If I'm feeling up to it I will make detailed interiors of both the Gas Station Shop and the Coffee Shop. I'm looking forward to get started on this one...

Hey nice work, looking forward to seeing the whole town.
No idea about pricing, but yeah some people might like completely painted and assembled set for cheaper price, than buying expensive gw stuff, if they didn't want to make any.
