I like the color scheme a lot. Feels sort of desert-y.

Your choice of colors is wonderful, and your painting great. Perhaps my favorite Necron color scheme I've seen on here.

Love love LOVE the colour of the shoulder pads.

Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it. Don't wait for it. Just let it happen. It could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot black coffee.

I love the work you've done here. as for critique, only a couple things jump out at me.

first, it looks like you've got some OSL around the eyes, but the eyes themselves don't appear to be bright. so, maybe lose the glow effect around the eye sockets or give the eyes some color to justify the glow.

the second thing is that the highlights in the grooves on the legs make me think of Tron because of how bright they appear compared to the dark blue around them. if that's not an intentional reference, maybe tone the brightness of the grooves down a shade or two. the same highlights in the shield appear more subtle because the entire shield is brighter. I think that's a better contrast level then what you've got going on between the grooves and the dark blue on the legs.

and now that I've looked more closely at the dark blue on the legs, that brings up a third thing... why have the dark blue there at all? I honestly like the color scheme as-is, but it's a bit odd that the dark blue only appears on the upper legs and nowhere else on the model. maybe add some of that same dark blue to the upper arms for symmetry or get rid of it altogether?

just a few random thoughts

The Dark blue is seen throughout the model being on the "calves" "quads" and the neck piece. As a single model I understand why you do not see why there is the dark blue but if you look at my blog in my sig you will see I have vehicles as a mainly blue color. The idea being that as a whole the composition will create and keep its balance. Vehicles being mostly blue, foot troops being the main scheme and scarabs, wraiths, and Spyders being more Grey/white.

Thanks for your input!

The tron style appearance is essentially to represent their power source, instead of using green I chose blue. I might give it a wash with asurmen blue to perhaps fade it some more and make more subtle with your advice.

Favourite part are the shoulder and trochanter pads. You got a nice ancient otherworldly look out of him.

Thanks, I really enjoy the hip bone protectors too, I really thought the necrons should have that old ancient feel and I think I have accomplished that. You are welcome to check out my blog and see the rest of my Crons.

A good solid paintjob! Like the effects on the power weapon, and the white on the shield was an excellent idea!

The dark blue parts, collar, thighs etc I'm not too sure about, but I'll wait untill I see a full unit to make a deffinate statement. I'd love to see something on the handle/shaft of the weapon to contrast, as the light silver and white highlights on the blade make it a very light piece.

But it's rock solid, get a full army of this level and it'll look sweet on the table!

Looks good, were you going for a leather look on the shoulder pads or is it just a result of the photo?

That is just the result of the photo. It is a solid edge highlight all the way around.
