In the process of fleshing out my US tank company (2nd Armoured Div from Turning Tide and sometimes the generic tank company from v3 for fun) and have stared putting together a handful of M4 105mm Shermans. Just curious to hear peoples thoughts on their use in the field and why you include them in your lists (or why you spend the points else where).

I personally just like the idea of a pack of howizters running around the place, sure the range isn't that great and being a Sherman, they aren't the sturdiest tanks but I still have a soft spot for them.

The V3 forces book puts them as just a break through gun, the 155mm howitzer is the only US big gun to get the bunker buster perk. The break through gun rule is the reason I had started looking at them in the first place. While it would be nice to get 1 hit kills on buildings, no save hits on pretty much everything else is still a nice bonus.

Potentially dumb question, but does the updated stat line from the V3 force book apply for pre V3 books (like Turning Tides)?
