I've bitten the bullet and joined the world of fantasy! This is my 3rd (current!) GW project, with DE and SM's being other current WiP's too. I'm a hobby butterfly but to be honest I think having lots of different things on the go at the same time actually helps my motivation a little!

So after weeks of poring over the WoC army book I figured that a Chaos Lord on Manticore with the Axe of Khorne, Talisman of Preservation, and Mark of Nurgle, would kick some serious ass! So that's S7 WS8 I7 Lord with killing blow, a 4+ ward save, and -1 to hit on a flying monstrosity that also has killing blow at S5 that causes terror. I'm new to fantasy, but that sounds meaty as fc:uk.

I'm also thinking swapping the axe of khorne for an ogre blade (+3 strength) would be a better use of points rules-wise and get similar rewards in cc. Am I right in thinking that wounds caused by weapons that are double the strength of the targets toughness causes instant death as in 40k? Another consideration is giving the mk of tzeentch to make that a 3+ ward save, but equally I don't think that'd be too fair to my opponents...

So here's the lord conversion, hope you like it. More will drip through in time, just recovering from a wedding and a house move so a lot to do still! I can see this army being more marauders around a small core of hard hitting chaos warriros and knights, will add more as I get chance (and cash) to buy 'em!

Str double the toughness does not instant kill.

The manticore isnt bad its just cannons are a huge threat to it.

Mon might want to be reconsidered because its -1 ws when they are attacking you.

Mok with chaos rune sword and the tali of preservation is pretty good tho. Lots of str 6 ws9 attacks.
