I don't think they still do, but AMC used to regularly air an hour of the Three Stooges every weekday for several years. I watched it regularly and enjoyed the series, and then I saw this:
Gotta say though, they actually look a lot like the original actors.
We were once so close to heaven, St. Peter came out and gave us medals; declaring us "The nicest of the damned".
“Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.'”
This film has been in development hell for years with the cast changing up quite a bit and waning and waxing studio interest. The Farrelly Brothers originally had it back around 2001-2002 but things fell through, reaquired again in 2008 but casting and production issues delayed it and then eventually it came to us as it is now. The change of cast is proof there is a God. that would've been HORRIBLE!
My buddy said he'd like to check it out. After seeing the preview I'm not so sure. It may be that the original was never that terribly funny to begin with though. It cannot do worse than the previous re-make of it.
"Holy Sh*&, you've opened my eyes and changed my mind about this topic, thanks Dakka OT!"
I laughed at several moments during that preview, especially the "soprano" incident. Besides, it's cant be any worse than space alien ninja turtles, right?
