Havent played in quite a while now, and i see alot has changed in the 40k world
Wanted to get a few games in but wanted some opinions on a few units 1st before i decide on a set list.
So, heres the units / models in question:

Warriors - With a prime they dont seem bad.
BS4 spitters seem like they are actually of use.
However, T4 hurts them badly as i see krak missiles dropping them quickly.
Are they worth taking? if so, is it worth keeping them near my spawning pool and having a tervy keep catalyst on them to try and keep them going?

Shrikes - Kind of a weird unit.
They are warriors. but at the same time they have swapped armopur for speed, which is nice, but i cant keep catalyst on them and just feel they will die too quickly.

Raveners - Seems pretty nice actually, but i rarely see them used so was wondering what the issue was with them.
Seem pretty quick and with spinefists they get a ton of TL shots before the assault, which they re-roll fails in.

Venomthropes - ok, main problem is they eat space i want for hives and thropes, but does the cover help enough to make them worth using?
If spread out well enough that bubble should provide quite wide-spread protection, and the dangerous terrain tests when assaulting me seem like a massive gain aswell.
However, are they worth it please?

Fex's - i see the points being an issue here since the old screamer-killer was 113 points, not its near on double that.
Are they viable anymore? the S9 is still great for tank hunting, but i feel the points outweigh the use.

Last but not least: Old one eye.
A very very points heavy fex, but S10 all the time, a 5+ regen and a bucket of attacks.
Rules seem ok too since he can boost LD as a last resort.
However, he does have a useless rule: Living battering ram; so i get +2 I on the turn i charge? nice, just a shame those claws keep me at I1, no matter what.

I think thats about it really, i did play one or two games with the latest dex when it 1st came out, and quickly realised why pyro's shouldnt be taken.
Just needed a nice rundown on other units as i dont want a basic every day list (i do have a spawning pool though since it seems essential now)
Thanks for any and all feedback
Not in any great rush though as ive just started ploughing into painting again and have a swarmlord and 3 guards to get done

Thanks again.

Warriors are alright, but yes - they die to S8 way too easily. I recommend using them to camp a backfield objective with Deathspitters and a Venom Cannon - the cover will keep them protected from shooting, and they can be a pain to kill when there are more pressing matters at hand (Genestealers, MCs, etc). They can do CC as well with Lash Whips + Boneswords or maybe Rending Claws, but they put themselves out there in order to do that, and against most armies they can't really afford that risk.

I haven't used Shrikes personally, but their speed seems to give them a better chance at making it to CC. I'd try Lash Whips + Boneswords on them personally, although they should be screened by Gargoyles or BLOS cover.

They are good, I think most people don't use them though because they're expensive (money-wise and points-wise to a certain degree).

I love Venomthropes. They keep MCs alive and they're an absolute pain for the enemy if they want to charge you first. My only complaint is that they almost always get sniped on Turn 1, but if they can survive then they will be a serious thorn in your enemy's side. They're not too bad in CC either as a support unit.

They're just way too expensive and fragile, especially when there are much better MCs for similar points cost.

Again, way, way, way, WAY too expensive. If you're lucky, he'll charge a unit, kill it and then die in the next turn when he gets a face full of rockets. Typically, he'll get a face-full of rockets Turn 1. I've run him to waste points 2 or 3 times, and he only performed reasonably well in 1 game because we were playing a special scenario.

Tervigon can pass FNP onto warriors,
so a large unit with venomthrope cover save can be really tough.

This month they also have bone sword and lashwhip upgrade bits, nice buffs

Thanks greatsword
Might have to run some ravs and try out the venomthropes for a few games.
Will just buff my other units to make up for it.

Thats what i had in mind luna, was just hoping it was enough though.
And oh i know
Got a few sets through so far and some swords for my tyrant guard.

lol, all depends really, might run a basic unit of 6-9 ish with deathspitters and a strangler for shooting (BS4 nids? result!)

Combat will just be sword + whip and adrenal.
More than likely in a unit of 9 with a prime.
