So I'm going to pick up a second hand, however entirely unpainted Legions of Everblight army, and wanted tips. I know from past experiences shredders are great for tarpitting jacks and eating them alive, letting things like a Carnivean rush the enemy warcaster.

However my limited experience is playing as Khador and i'm shelving them as i'm not at all happy with how they turned out, they need to take a bath in simple green along with my Harad, however that is neither nor there.

Any particularly sly tricks the faction has I could pull on other players? I definitely want to play Hordes as I like them much more then any of the Iron Kingdoms.

I've sold so many armies. :(

Hey, I just started up a Legion army myself. Coming from Cryx (not moving over, just adding, I love cryx), seeing just how different legion is from cryx but still how similar they are going to play, it doesn't really look like you need too many nasty little tricks to be a indomitable force on the board.

Legion are very Good about 2 things: shooting, and movement. They can be good in melee, but mainly for Alpha Strikes. Legion doesn't take damage very well, so always use the terrain. Forrests and Cloud effects are our best friends, because all of our beasts ( and some warcasters, and units) can ignore them.

Once you understand what the strength and weakness are you just find a caster and figure out how to make them work to their particular strengths. For example legion has one of the best battleboxes in the game, as long as you use forrests.

BTW, I play Khador too, and playing legion has made me a better Khador player.

Shredders wont tarpitt a heavy jack/beast as they can trample over the top... so dont count on that working.

We love what we love. Reason does not enter into it. In many ways, unwise love is the truest love. Anyone can love a thing because. That's as easy as putting a penny in your pocket. But to love something despite. To know the flaws and love them too. That is rare and pure and perfect.

They're giving up alot to do that though like all their initials and the ability to charge and you have shredders in their backfield.

I've won 2 games recently with a well placed trample, its not going to be enough to prevent a caster kill putting shredders in the way

Good on you then since trample is relatively easy to block.

How does a trample work? I currently lack a rulebook.

Large warjack/beast only. I believe you move the same distance as a charge. Any small base you pass over (and perhaps within melee range of?) you get to make one attack against. If you contact a medium base or larger, or an obstruction then the trample ends immediately. I "think" free strikes against your jack happen after the trample attacks are resolved.

I also have a Khador force. I may try it out. But I just couldn't turn down the offer of a 30 pt Legions army for $50.

Mostly right. SPD+3, only models you pass over, no free strikes from models you pass over, and models hit take a STR damage roll. Free strikes from models not passed over are resolved after trample attacks.

Shredders are best at Solo hunting and tying up your enemy. Putting them in a Heavy Warnoun's face isn't going to accomplish much, but can (at times) be a useful tactic. Putting them in back arc to threaten a free strike is good times, and when they go rabid you can usually plink a few dmg on most heavies.
