This is a simple modeling question:

I am looking to start an inquisitorial addition to my grey knights force. I am currently contemplating the Imperial Guard Command Squad as a start. They have a lot of special weapons and some flavorful models. I was simply wondering if the Company Commander that is included would make a suitable inquisitor. The set up I was going for would be a plasma pistol arm and the mechanical power sword arm.

What do you all think?

I think he'll look a little too much like a military man in uniform (which he is) and not eccentric enough to be an Inquisitor. You'd need to sculpt some Inquisition icons to put on him, and maybe a cool hat or haircut to distinguish him from your standard Imperial Guard lieutenant or what have you. The plasma pistol and bionic arm are definitely a good start though.

Gotcha. I do sort of like the idea that the inquisitor came from the military, though I suppose that wouldn't make much sense from a fluff perspective would it? Meh. To be honest, I can't really sculpt with green stuff. I'm actually just getting to the point in my hobby where I can effectively put models together and paint them to a fine quality.

I honestly might just switch out the officer head for the scarred up body guard head and put some eccentric gubbins on him for good measure.

What type of Inquisitor will you be going for, what will his wargear be? Will it be male or female.

Welp, I'd love it to be female but I haven't found any suitable models. So either sex would work for me. As for wargear, I would probably go with a plasma pistol and power sword. He/she will be rolling with a henchman warband that will be outfitted with AP3 lasguns and plasma. Not the most competitive, but fluffy. And the inquisitor will probably have a decent armor save.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
The idea is that I would have one inquisitor go with my shooty henchman, the one with the pistol and sword, and then I would have another to go with the choppy henchman, ie termie armor and like a big hammer or something with DCA and crusaders.

Well by the sounds off it you want a dude who can any off they 3 Ordos.

Youvwant a decent save. All 3 can get Power Armour. Hereticus and Xenos can't get higjer so I would go with that.

I think a Model you might like is Captain Sicarius. He has a PP and PS. He is finecast so that might put you off, but any UM symbols can be easily filed away and have Inq symbols painted, Greenstuff or Etched Brassed on him.

For the Termy Inq, he will.need to be an Ordo.Malleus. He can have a Daemon Hammer or Force Weapon. His gun can be either a Combi weapon, the normal ones, a stormbolter or a psycannon or a Force Sword.

In order to get the standard force weapon he needs to be upgraded to a ML1 psyker.

Personally I would go with Terminator Armour, Psycannon and Daemon Hammer.

For the PP/PS one I suggest 9 Warrior Acolytes with Hot Shots and 2 Jokaeros in a Chimera. 3 Acolytes should have SS.

For the Termie one I suggest
1 Acroflagellant
3 Crusaders
3 DCA
3 Daemon Hosts
In a Chimera for speed.

If you take his one I also suggest taking a Land Raider or Stormraven and Purgator Squad.

Deploy the Inq deathstar in one of the assault vehicles so it can get close quick. Then turn one jump the Purgators with 4 Psycannons in the Chimera.

Personally, I think this model would make an excellent female inquisitor:
Spoiler:

Failing that, a properly modified Warmachine Sorcha or Haley model would also work for a female inquisitor:

Azazel that first model looks awesome! I've been trying to get an Order Xenos Inquisitor since GW makes none, and I think that might work.

Thanks so much Azazel, that first model does look damn awesome. The huge sword arm put me off a little but then I saw that she could equip a smaller power sword. I will be picking one up quite soon. For 15 bucksish, that is a steal.

I actually prefer the giant sword-gun thing, if only because the scabbard size never changes, and I think it just looks kinda strange to have a normal-sized sword and then a massive scabbard.

Probably no stranger than wearing a miniskirt to battle, but hey, nobody complains about that part. Either way, I think Raging Heroes has some fantastic sculpts.

I looked over a lot of em and I must say that I agree wholeheartedly with you. Great model quality.
