So guys, just a complete shot in the dark but searching does nothing so... Has anybody done the title before?
Seems like a cool thing to do. I'm thinking of doing a diorama based on this.

I have seen people use flames used on the ends of ...flamers.
Same with dragon. Here is a good post on another site, sorry MODS if this against the rules.
Mainly you use a lot of green stuff mold it and use gravity to keep things pointy.

well i did this once. I sold the model long time ago so no pics. I started by drilling the mouth then inserting a long heavy Gage wire. Once the wire has set, sculpt green stuff around the wire in a thin layer to give the fire something to hold on to. Next i free handed fire, sculpted in rings around the wire until it was close to the base. Prime then paint. looks good, sold the model for 100$. Took a few trys though. Reaper has fire elementals that are a good sculpt for inspiration on the breath.

are you talking about breathing ACTUAL fire from the model, or simulated fire?
ACTUAL fire, is dangerous and can cause some serious harm to you and your house if you aren't trained. so barring that, i've seen it done by people in other models. (a dragon is just another model.)
as for simulated fire, I KNOW its been done. just all depends on your sculpting skills.

ha rimmey! it was simulating fire, with green stuff is my idea now.
Looking around, seems some form of metal and wrap the green stuff around it :0

If you want a more puffy look, put blobs and wisps of cotton wool on the armature and spray paint them like billows of flame.
I did this once for a Vietnam wargame -- covered two cardboard boxes from shoes with cotton balls. People came from all over the game show to see the napalm strike.

Theres a tutorial here on sculpting flames, the dragon one in there i beleive was mounted onto a wire which the flames are sculpted around.

Dat Beer....oh my lord.
The real trick with painting fire is remembering that it is hottest nearest to the center of where the flames are coming out of...a lot of people end up painting fire "backwards" where they paint the colors on as highlights that really should be the core of the fire. Just something to keep in mind. Orange is the coolest, while white and blue, are all hotter.

Probably the coolest fire I have ever seen done was Mike Wallace's Radioactive Fire Monster diorama.
http://thetholianweb.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=11&p=9861
He used expanding foam insulation to create the master fire gout and then created a mold for rotocasting that in clear resin. After the resin was cast, he painted it with clear colors for the fire in several layers and colors. Finally he stuffed a string of LED lights into the inside to light it up (rotocasting creates a hollow object).
I have since used the same technique several times, though I still need to work on the painting compared to his...you can almost feel the heat.

I've seen Liquid Nailz used to make fire before. Just put a blob of it on wax paper and then tease the blob with a nail to get fire effects.
