My friends and I play large gamers, sometimes 1v1v1v1. I have always wanted to recreate the Tyranids swarm list I had when I was in middle school high school with Orks. Here is my attempt at a Green Tide list with no vehicles at 3000 points.

This should come out to 2996 unless my math got messed up somewhere. Including grots, boyz, special boyz, and bosses, there are 266 figures, 275 if one includes the big gunz. I have crafted simple moving trays as the people I play with allow me until terrain of the like becomes a burden then they 'disembark' from their trays and the real foot slogging begins. My question I guess is how does my opponent in a one on one game deal with almost 300 models? Are my dreams of a massive Ork Horde without vehicles unrealistic? I currently play a list with 1x looted wagon and 3x deffkoptas, and no big gunz at 1500 points, obviously with less squads etc. and though my games have been close I have prevailed as over 100 models at 1500 seems to be too much for my opponents to handle.

I'd drop Zagstruk. Not only is he overpriced, he only gets PK when he charges, you must deep strike, cannot shoot first turn, IF you're within range you can assault, and lose d3 stormboyz when you do.

Since he's reserved, he's most likely coming on turn 2 or 3. With So many models charging the enemy line I worry about space to deepstrike.

I would suggest dropping the stormboyz they tend to be more high risk than regular boyz and do about the same. Use those points to replace your warboss with ghazghkull thraka and use him with snikrott and that will serve two purposes one its thebest combo us orks got and two it may stop some shooting at you cause they don't want to feel the wrath of ghazy ripping through their flanks. Secondly I would replace the Kannons and one of the zzap with two battles wagon shootie ones keep them open topped andput the lootas in them now they are massive gun platforms. The other zzap can be kept but you can put 3 killa kans with grotzokka put them infront of the big mek and walk them up the field with 6 strength 6 blasts a turn and you still get that great gretchin bs lol. Any remaining points put into some deffkoptas and that looks sexy

Would you suggest then splitting the squad into a 9 man and 10 man respectively with nobs, pc, and bp?

I agree with a lot of the already stated ideas.

Drop the Stormboyz, they are just very unreliable. (Granted I do love their concept ) You may look into taking some Bikers instead, they fit pretty much the same role, have more dakka and are still a fast moving unit that you can get them where you need them.

Also, you may want to look into getting a Ghaz instead of your Warboss because of the already stated reason: Ghaz coming in on the board from your opponent's flank makes them HAVE to deal with it, if not he just rips through their army while you march up the field (and at 3000 points you should be doing this, it will generally make it's points back IMO).

You may also want to look at taking Kans, yes, I do understand you said no vehicles but technically they are walkers so, do you consider them vehicles? If not, I would definitely look at taking them, instead of a 5+ save from the KFF it lets you give your Boyz a 4+ and the Kans in turn get a 4+ from the KFF. On top of that you can also give them Rokkits for more AT if you need it or some Grotzookas to pie plate dem 'umies.

Also, consider investing in some Rokkit Buggies/Deff Koptas, I understand why you may consider them vehicles (but how I look at it it ain't a vehicle if it don't transport units). They definitely give you some reliable AT IMO (I mean c'mon TL Rokkits and they have good speed so they can get where you need them to and hit that side armor).

Ok so that is two calls against the stormboyz. I have not played with them before and currently only own about a half a dozen anyway so that is a good cut :-) I was thinking about Ghaz it sounds very mean at would serve as a good distraction. I love the deffkoptas and I have some that are IMO nicely painted atleast for me so I am going to go with them. Howz things look now.

A lot better IMO, only thing I can think of is just minor suggestions for the Heavy slot which the guns you got there still fit nicely as well and it just comes to personal preference on those.

Other than that looks like a really fun list that can do some damage. Enjoy that WAAAAAAAAAGH!!!!

Daddy like... never used those HS choices though... I have had great luck with koptas though. At 3k though, the 3 won't last past T1. That said... I have 9 fully painted kans and they keep frigging exploding like suicide bombers in my own lines.
