I was wondering if anyone would be able to post up the 3rd edition rules for the looted demolisher, battle tank, basilisk and rhino

I am curious to see what they are like and how to compare to the current looted wagons

You took them out of their native codex, but they got BS2 and access to Ork vehicle upgrades.

No, for looted leman russ, for example, you would take the imperial codex, buy a lemand russ, reduce its BS to 2 and then add wrecking balls, reinforced rams or whatever. At least if I understood Brother SRM right.

Looting used to be awesome, now it is a skill that is about as useful as being able to make awesome Space Hulk bases. Impressive, but sorta pointless now.

In other words, no. They weren't a generic choice like they are now; it was literally taking the Leman Russ, Land Raider, or what have you out of their respective codex and giving it BS2 and access to Ork upgrades. You needed to have a copy of Codex: Space Marines or Imperial Guard on you. You could only look Imperial vehicles, so no looted Carnifex or what have you. If you wanted to loot one and use it as a counts-as Deff Dread, that's always been an option.

You can, as a non-flying Rhino without the self repair that'll never be able to claim cover due to the flying stand...

I miss proper Looted Wagons too. The current one is not only an inferior Rhino with expensive bolt on extras, but it's in a Heavy slot :(

As a dedicated transport option it might have possibilities, but in the heavy slot it will be outshone and left unused most times..

The should just give all the rules forgeworld wrote for the big trakk to the looted wagon. The big trakk is basically the vehicle toolbox which the looted wagon should be, you can basically build an orky version of any (non-skimmer) vehicle with it.

Or the Mekboy junka, which is probably even closer. Although it appears to have weird variant rules for the Zzap gun and Shokk Attack gun. Dunno why, unless it's a hint of things to come (or more of the good ol' FW typos...)

I would rather see the mekboy junka implemented as it is, as the bigmek's hotrod. 60" rams are also funny as hell.
