Some friends and me are trying out some new/old skirmish games and we kinda dig Hell Dorado.
We read the quick starter rules and all and we're even more interested but one of use found the englisch rules on the french forum/site and we we're wondering if those are the same as the new rulebook?
Also wir really interested if this game has any future, there isn't much respons on the Hell Dorado site and forum....
Anybody can tell us if its worth starting?
The new English rules are a bit different from the original French printing. Not sure if there is a language barrier in your group and not sure if there will be a future French printing.
Which forums were you on?
The french Forums are pretty much dead since decipher bought the IP.
As for the English forum, it has a little bit of activity but nothing like Infinity or Malifaux for example.
Regarding the future of the game;
Not sure if the game has future or not. Decipher pretty much bought the IP because the game folded, attributed to the theme (a bit over the top gore). There was a bit of controversy in the French rule book with a demon raping an angel which was removed from the English rule book. Decipher has seemed to tone down the gore a bit. I personally believe Hell Dorado is destined to be a small market only attracting far and few between. Not just because of the theme, but there is a flood of skirmish miniatures games out there. But that could change, Decipher has turned down the gore a bit and have seen games that have been around for sometime and boom out of no where. Infinity is one, dark age seems to be getting a tab bit popular.
I would love to play as some of the miniatures are beautiful. But Only so much time to paint, play, money to buy minis and money to buy limited editions that are 5 times the value.
