What kind of play style do you have?

To be honest, I don't know. I do like the idea of running big beasts.

When playing a first person shooter how do you play?
Or what armies have you played before and used them?

Played six games so far. Four are with my friend who started Cryx and the other two were a practice game with Khador. I have won one game with the two of them. The Khador win really doesn't count because I used Lylyth to one-shot Sorscha and the guy only let that happen because he forgot about eyeless sight. I would say that I typically run the beasts up with the Carnivean leading the pack. Lylyth stays a bit behind and supports the beasts with her bow and spells.

If that is the case then Absylonia or eThagrosh will probably be up your street. Both can run almost 100% beasts fairly well.

I just started too and after reading up on the units and everything, Shepherds seem to be a great buy. I also picked up the Blighted swordsmen+UA and another multipart heavy dragonspawn, and pVayl.

If you don't have the book yet, check out this site - http://battlecollege.wikispaces.com/mkiiLegion

Be cautious on the Battle College site. According to them everything is good and its not true. There are many models that suffer bad rules, crap interactions or lack of synergy within its faction.

There are many places to go to learn what each factions units do and how they can be applied to the game. My suggestion is to learn your beasts strengths and weaknesses, then learn how your support solos work such as the Shepherds, Forsaken, etc.

Legion's Key models: Shepherds, Forsaken, Ravagore, Scythean, shredders, Striders+UA, Deathstalkers (Sniper is sooo good with snap fire), Annyssa Ryvaal, and of course Typhon (expensive, but worth it in certain lists).

Once you get a handle on all of our units/beasts/solos, it will be easier to figure out what warlocks appeal to your playstyle.

Actually, I've come across at least one entry where they didn't think they were that great. Legionnaires.

For cryx, the Corruptor.

In fact, they have negative (realistic) comments about many of the stuff in there.

Plus, you're pimping out your opinion whereas I'm pimping out what is generally a collaboration of many peoples opinions. I fail to see the difference here except that there is more info available on battle college.

Legionnaires are a cheap as chips screen and fuel for the Pot. I fail to see what's so bad about them.

It's not that they're bad, it's that they're not that good.

First line from the page - "The Legionnaires won't shine, they won't destroy beasts on a charge and they won't get back up and retaliate like Trollkin Champions. But that's why they are 6 points for 10, they act as a good speed bump tying up the enemy's more expensive units."

That pretty much sums up their usefulness. Before putting in the UA that isn't released yet, anyway.

Its definately just my opinion and take it for what you will. I think battle college has a lot of good information, but I don't agree with a lot of what they have to say and I'm not the only one that has noticed this about that site.

Ultimately you need to make your own opinions and determine what works for you.
