Hi

I've got the 4 hardback, limited to 300, Liber Chaotica books & I'm thinking of selling them on Ebay.

Should I put a reserve on them?
If so how much?

Should I join lots of other sites to advertise that I'm selling these books?
If so, any recommendations?

How much do you recon their worth?
I'm hoping to get a titan out the money.

Thank you for you help!

You should look on ebay and see what they have sold for recently. That will tell you what they are worth.

Just checked Ebay and the hardcovers listed for $95.00 did not sell so they are worth less than that.

Are they the ones in the special slip cases (ie the metal one, leathery one etc)?

If so I would put a reserve of at least £35 each on them, but I would say you would be better off selling them as a set as some sell better than others.

I'd be surprised if you didn't get somewhere in the region of £150 - £200 out of it, but I personally wouldn't sell them for less than £150 for the 4.

You might bbe able to get £40-£50 for each volume, but you'd probably sell the Nurgle and Khorne one and be left with Tzeentch and Slaanesh.

They were £100 each new - thought they might be worth £150 each :(

I'd buy the Tzeentch one...

If it's at a loss then I'll be keeping them - sorry.

Just had a look at Ebay & the ones selling for £50 odd are just the bog-standard books.
The ones I've got were limitted to 300 per God & have the spangley covers.
They're also unopened & come I the same UPS box that I got them in.

If your not desperate, I'd wait for the next free listing weekend, which will be in a couple of weeks (maybe three, they seem to be doing one a month at the moment) and chuck them on at the minimum price you'd be happy to let them go for, anything else on top is just gravy. From hwat you are saying, I'd be thinking of listing them for between £120 and £150 starting if they where mine.

If they don't sell, you've lost nothing, not even a listing fee.

Just make sure you advertise them here, Warseer, anywhere GW folks gather that has a trading forum and allows ebay ads.

Watch your commission rates, IIRC ebay has a weird 10% rate if your starting amount is above a certain value.

You don't pay listing fees anymore anyway. Well, you get 25 free listings per month. If he sets a reserve, however, it will cost $2.00. If your item doesn't sell and you re-list it, you get dinged for another $2.00. I've been listing Egrimm Van Horstman and Baudros for a month now. No sale and it's already costing me $8.00. Considering my reserve is set at only $40, I'm already losing ¼ of the sale. Lame.

Don't think we have that in the UK, not something I ever noticed anyways.

We have a up to 100 free listings per month 0-99p starting bid without reserve deal. Which is no good to the OP in this case.

Hell not sure if there was much I'd use it for, maybe clearing out some heroclix or cards for CCGs with a starting bid of 99p each maybe.

edit - oh and in the UK its 10% of the final total regardless of any other factors.

Not a listing fee, but a commission on the actual sale. If the item starts low and reaches high, you you pay a lesser commission than if you start high.

I recall reading something about it in their new T&C.

Acording to their sell blurb its still a flat 10% unless this is something they are planning to bring in. Or might be related to business customers, who have several advantages over private buyers?

No, you're right. I've misunderstood what was written, just ignore me.

One potential thing you could do is set it up at a buy-it-now price slightly higher than your reasonable expectations, and set it up so buyers can make offers on it.

That way, if it does sell, you made a little more than you thought you would.

If it doesn't, you can look through the offers and get an idea of how much buyers are actually willing to pay for them, then either adjust price accordingly or keep them for yourself.

ebay always charges around a 10% final value fee no matter the starting price. No way around that. The only way you pay less is when you are a top rated seller. Then they take 20% off your total FVF for the month.

You pay a higher listing fee the higher you start your auction.
