Subject: Dark Eldar questions

ok first question.
When a tank attempts a ram against a skimmer, the skimmer is allowed to dodge on a 3+. Then damage is applied (assuming vehicle hits).
Would a dark eldar vehicle be able to make it's flickerfield save against this? would the 3+ dodge be considered a type of "save"?
so would it be either: declare ram, 3+ dodge, roll to penetrate, 5++ flickerfield, and then damage result?
or
declare ram, 3+ dodge, roll to penetrate and then just damage result?
Second question
In regards to models being 1" away from an enemy unit at all times and a few other things.
this again pertains to DE vehicles
Dark Eldar have a bunch of spikes and decorative bits on their vehicles. For example, the shock prow bit. and the sails on my ravagers (I put mine on the sides, resembling wings)
Assume that the shock prow upgrade was not taken and the enhanced aethersails upgrade was not taken.
would enemy units be able to be within 1" of the prow but not the hull?
Can the prow/sails contest even though they are not part of the hull?
and can weapons (particularly blast weapons) still get full strength by landing on said bits

If you pass the Dodge, the Ram does not happen. If the Ram is successful, you get your FF save.
There is currently a thread on whether or not the aether sails count as the hull or not. There was a thread a while back on whether or not the Shock Prow counts as hull or not. If your model has the sails, but you are playing "count as no sails" then the sails in this case would be decorative.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

ok, thanks. I saw that other thread, but I posted this one because my sails are on the side of the vehicle (for purely decorative purposes).
What about part of the model (but not the hull) and contesting?
I found the part about being within 1" of a unit, it states "model" so I guess my prows and sails count for that.

You measure from the hull, so if the sails are not "the hull" they are ignored for all purposes.

usually for staying 1" away the prow is part of that, since your probally measuring movment, and disembark ranges from it. so i would say it counts for everything thats required as part of hull. since its clearly not a decorative "etc".
sails.... well check the other thread for that one.
best adivce is to clarify and agree pre game what counts for what and so forth. prevent argument during the game (should any actually occur after the pregame argu- i mean discussion)
