This is mainly a fluff question so I guess it goes here...
I'm assembling a post heresy world eaters army and I want to build a BFG fleet to represent them in space battles. I envision this company/warband to be very organized and militant. So my question is, would the ships in the fleet be in the color of the world eaters legion? With red and brass, or would they just be cold steel ships?
I really want to paint them in world eaters colors, but I'm interested in how they would actually look.

Blood, skull and Khorne Symbols, large blades for ramming and 'disimbowwling' enemy craft, lots of boarding pod launchers in order to get in close combat.

I agree. The ship should basically just be a huge flying space-skull. Preferably a flaming flying space-skull, but that would present some formidable engineering challenges. But in any case it should be skull-like. See if you can work some blood in there too. That would be good.

For the moment, I am not planning any conversions haha love the ideas though. The question was specifically about paint schemes though.

That's if you can get past the improbability/paradox of anyone worshipping Khorne to paint a ship that is miles long (or even sit still in a transport long enough to be transported to a ship for that matter, without collecting skulls!)

I figured the world eaters didn't paint any of their stuff, khorne just bestowed his colors upon them haha

IIRC, there was World Eaters ship in Atlas Infernal. It was almost completely covered in skulls.
