I've played a few times. It's interesting, but the learning curve is pretty steep.

Fortunately, you can play on smaller boards and start with pieces on the board to even things out. Makes it much easier on new players as opposed to things like Chess.

Yeah, 9x9 & 13x13 are the most common beginner sizes (with 19x19 being the standard game size).

I've heard there's a program that lets you play Go on a sphere. I want to try that sometime, it sounds mindbending. I should probably get a bit better at the standard game first, though.

Cruising Ultima Segmentum

Go is a lot of fun. A friend of mine bought one of the fancy Go boards and brought it over to my house and we sat in the doorway for hours playing it. I'm not very good and haven't played that many times but that is one of those things that takes practice.

Go games go pretty much like Chess games for me. Either, I win easy, or lose badly.

You pretty much have to play it from childhood, to play with serious Go players.
