How do you determine the armor facing on vehicles that substantially longer then they are wide? For example I had a unit shooting at my vendetta, if you had four 90 degree armor facings then it was arguably in the rear armor arc. However if you drew a line from the center of the firing model to the center of my vendetta it clearly hit along the side of the tail boom, not the rear. Which armor facing would be hit and/or how would this be resolved?

Have you applied the picture on page 60?

Take a tape measure and go from one corner to the opposite corner as if it were a rectangle.

Actually on the subject of flyers and armour arcs, where would you count as the hull on a venom or vendetta?
Would it include the jet engines or would it just be the main box section of the fuselage on the vendetta for the purpose of figuring the arc? And what the hell do you do with the venom?

The storm raven doesn't matter for this really as it is 12 all round.

It's not the size of the blade, it's how you use it.

For a vendetta/valk I've always taken the back corner of the tail rudder through the outer corner up front by the engines. Since it's a 12/12/10 vehicle to be a rear shot you would almost have to be straight on from behind, same to get front armor. Since front and side are the same, it's not going to matter too much.

Ok, thanks for that.

Best way I've found is to grab those two rather useless red measuring sticks you get in the box.

Hold one in each hand and form a cross, hover it over the centre of the vehicle and adjust your angles to go thought the corners (like the diagram on page 60). Let's you easily see who's in what arc.

Edit: for the Valkyrie I use the the main hull, at the back where the door is.

Basically what they said.

a long and narrow vehicle will have narrow front and rear arcs and wide side arcs.

as for whats Hull and not, wings are part of the hull.

They faq'd that, vehicle wigs are hull. The wings part of the decorative elements description is for things like the sanguinor or any other models with fancy wings.

You could use the handy GF9 los templates for Whfb as the arcs, hitting them on the corner of the model.
