As in title.

The basis of the thread is that I need to write a story for my English class, and had an idea revolving around Daemons of Chaos. Obviously the common student in my class, or my teacher, wouldn't know a Bloodletter from a Space Marine's backside, but some of my ideas for the story invoolve allowing the person possessed to manifest powers from the Daemon inside them, including powers the Daemon wouldn't normally have itself or give to the host. For example, in my story the host can burn people's flesh from contact. I doubt Bloodletters can do this.

So where do you stand? Is making nion existent things up to fit a stopry acceptable? Just to be clear, I am not taking C.S.Goto's Ninja Terminator's here, just a little bit fictionous in relation to fluff.

I apologise if this is in the wrong section but as it is a fluff discussion...

Don't make it too grimdark. They'll think you have issues and call the po-po. Anyway it's a big galaxy. Lots of crazy stuff can happen. As long as you're not directly contradicting the canon sure, why not?

If it's the warp then it's pretty much up to you anyway. If you want a Bloodletter to be able to do this, then that's up to you - nothing is definite when it comes to daemons & the warp.

Ironically I do have a DvD on my shelf called Ninja Terminator...

So long as you avoid named characters and don't contradict the Canon its all good l. It's a big universe and anything can happen. I had a tzeentch deamon turn its host into a vampire so all is possible with chaos.

Post it here when your done cos that sounds cool.

The canon or fluff seems to change whenever the game designers choose, so it isn't like you'd be destroying anything that is set in stone. Feel free to alter the universe as you see fit.

i would like to just say that my story isn't exactly typical 40k. It takes place on a hive world or something somewhere that is designed around modern day earth, but obviously with 40k things like Ig, PDF and stuff like that. The story really only focuses on the planet and the main character. There is mentions of Xenos, Marines, Praise the Emperor and stuff, but it is a mostly secluded planetm with little contact with any life outside of the inhabitants.

The story I am writing for class only needs to be a 5 pages or so, so I am going to leave it as a cliff hanger. However, the story I wish to write is too long, so I will post it in the Dakka fiction section when I have pieces done. It could be a while seeing as I don't have proper word processing facilities from my home computer and I am off for Easter. After that is my exams, but I am sure I weill find time to bunk off studying for a little hobby, and writing.

Daemons have various abilities depending on how strong they are and how much favour they have from their god...
So yeah he may well be able to burn someone on contact...

Matters on the story. I love making new chapters and sometimes new races that could pose a threat to the Imperium.

Then I take somethings from another universe and find a way to apply to a stupid chapter.
Like the Wild Cats and the Order of the Bloody Hand. Or the Fail Knights or the Deadly Deadlines

Who was this directed at?
Because If one looks at the date it tells many of the things that will happen.

I have invented five races. The Quaji'd- Intelligent limbed creatures reptillian and have massive jaws, The Dorisanians - Advanced (inspired by volus from ME), Heitas - Primitive devourers, (Those are the only onese mentioning,)

The official novels don't have to obey cannon, so I can't think of any reason your you to have to. Heck your turning it in as a school paper. No one is going to complain or know what to complain about.

If you don't mind my asking, what does this homework consist in exactly ?

Quite simply I have to write a short story. Bout 5 opages long. Then I have to learn it by heart, come in on a particular day and rewrite it over the course of a few lessons from memory, under exam conditions. Simple, right?

Hm, like a written recitation then ? Never had that kind of assignment myself, sounds interesting.

As for your story, I'd say go wild. Daemons are inconsistent (duh, "Chaos"), 40k fluff is inconsistent, so I think it's safe to say there is no boundary !
Thinking about it, associating Khornate daemons and fire is not a stretch ; wasn't there an option to give the Bloodthirster flaming attacks in WHFB ?

And yeah, maybe don't make it too dark or they'll think you're a Satan worshipper or something.

Let them. If I start chanting random gibberish then they will certainly learn to m,ock me anymore for playing 40k.

Demonic possession isn't exactly a new concept, what you're describing isn't just in 40k but a wide array of other things. The modern concept of what Demonic possession is all comes from The Exorcist anyway.

sounds like a willing Deamonhost you got there, or a possessed dude, either way, yep you can do it, it will fit quite nicely in 40k lore infact, as that stuff happens alot.

as for burning on touch, yep, thats pyromancy (for my fellow inquisitors buffs), and to put it another way, a Daemonhost (cherubael) took the head off a titan, so burning a bit o skin for a lower level daemon is par for the course
