I know Privateer frowns on conversion and self builds but i could not help myself.

i have decided to make my own jacks and write my own fluff (but use the Cygnar rules), fully understanding i will never be allowed to use them in Privateer tournament play.......but i am a rebel.

I almost have the first two heavy jacks assembled, still need to pose them and add finishing details and before i base and paint decided to share for some comments and suggestions.

the "ball" bodies will differentiate all jacks, and the light jacks will have similar build.

here goes - picture heavy so warning up front.

just a word on style to start -- wanted something a bit baroque, and used "faux antique" beads to provide the ostentation.

http://i1256.photobucket.com/albums/ii490/andybaum29/001.jpg" border="0" />

this is a shot for sizing - i think it is almost identical to the Heavy Jacks
(those of you familiar with Kubrick's "2001: a space odyssey" may recognize the inspiration for the heads)

one jack "done" - i later swapped the claw for a hammer so it would look more like the defender --at this point in the construction i did not have the rules or the cards....oops.

this shot shows the second jack's "shockfists" and "lightning coil".

finally playing a little with the posing - a running Thunderhead - also a good look at the hammer on the defender.

For fluff - this is a small city state - the army will be called Hanshot Furst's (i see what you did there) Black River Raiders - i am going to try for swampy bases with resin and reeds, don't have a color scheme yet.

suggestions and constructive criticism welcome.

thanks.

They definitely give off a feeling of older brass diving bells and such. I would be interested to see how they size up against a standard jack.

Also, maybe these should be from the post-collosals era, i.e. when warjacks were first being built. They could be like the Talon or Renegade in that regard, once standard issue or actually Cygnarian, but became Merc equipment when retired.

No wargames these days, more DM/Painting.

I paint things occasionally. Some things you may even like!

Look more like something the Cult of Cyriss would build.
