I'm going to be running a BA mech list in a tounet with a HG squad but can't decide how to outfit them. The rest of the list is your basic BA mech list consiting of 5 ASM in Las-plas Backs, 3 Baals, 3 Vindis. The ASM squads have 3 MGs and 2 flamers.

Should I give the HG 3 meltas or 3 plasmas?

I take mine with 4 plasmas.

4 plasmas works a treat I think. 4 plasmas and a fist just in case

And should I put them in a Razorback or a Rhino?

I went with 4 meltaguns and jump packs, then again I'm playing a jumper BA army. For a Razorback based army, the plasmaguns are probably more useful, since you won't be looking to assault after firing very often.

Would it be better to have;

1) HG w/PW, 4 Plasma Guns, Rhino w/EA and another Sanguinary Priest

Or

2) 7 Sternguard w/PW, Rhino w/EA and a Sanguinary Priest

You only need plasma guns depending on what turret you're taking on the Razorbacks. You don't need plasmas if you're running las/plas, which all Angel Razorbacks should be running.

Consider at least two meltaguns or flamers. No close combat specials as you cannot charge from a tank.

Honestly depends on the rest of your list but meltas are always good. Your list seems to lack a good counter charge unit.... Id run 2 pws and 1 pf for a good counter unit. But that's me.

Put them in a Razorback as everything else is in a Razorback. Doesn't matter getting out to shoot too much with the H.G as they have feel no pain anyway.

Razorback, that way you can keep your army together at the same range. Razorspam ba plays a lot like ig, stay together and shoot crap lol

I want to say a Razorback, but a Rhino with plasma shooting out of it is nice too. You already have 5 las/plas razors so something else might add a nice edge to the list

having said that what role do you need of them? I really not sure.
4 plasmas can be good and really needed. But this for me is with DoA where long range shooty isn't really available.

I tend to want the honour guard to babysit my librarian. Which means the tank has to move up with my Baals. So I take a rhino to pop shots out of the top and keep my mobility available. Mephiston can also move up with this group and get FNP from the tank. I think a razorback really limits them. If you want another razorback, then take another assault squad. If you want a squad with excellent special weapon shooting, mobility and FNP, then take an honour guard in a rhino.
