Big Box o' Goodies finally arrived today, a box of Harlies and Deadzone: Contagion. The Harlies got built first, and with some creative building and spare legs, I managed to get 6 Harlies, a Solitaire and a Death Jester out of the box that's supposed to make 6 total, so I came out ahead there. I also have a ton of DE/Eldar-style swords that look amazing left over, I may have to grab some DE Wyches for conversion just so I can stick them to something!

Now, onto the 30 Zombies in Contagion, and hopefully, it'll be even easier to get more than that out of them. After all, who said Zombies needed 4 linbs each? That's just greedy!

OK, just kidding. I am doing nothing with hobby today, but tommorow, I may paint up some BA death company or scratch-build grot tanks out of cardboard. Have not decided yet, but probably Death Company.

INSANE army lists still available!!!! Now being written in 8th edition format! I have Index Imperium 1, Index Imperium 2, Index Xenos 2, Codex Orks Codex Tyranids, Codex Blood Angels and Codex Space Marines!
PM me for an INSANE (100K+ points) if you desire.

I by accident figured out a legit way to make a Stormbird out of GW stuff. Basically had a eureka moment using two of GW's flier kits and the canopy from a X-wing.

I'm getting set up for mission 3 of Star Wars Imperial Assault. Under Siege.

Its basically Zulu with Stormtroopers.

Can the plucky Rebel Heroes win their first mission? Will Dials Passil find her way back to the Light Side after straying during Temptation?

Find out... Soon!

In my teens to my 20's, I could get so "into the zone" (so to speak) that I could paint for almost 30 to 40 hours straight, without a break (that is sort of what killed Tycho Brahë - he was so obsessed with his work that he refused to even take a break for the bathroom, and his bladder burst).

My first ever army (Archive Hobgoblins, which I had done conversions of to produce an entire army) got painted that way.

I sat down to work on finishing a unit of Hobgoblin Axemen, and the next thing I knew, it was two days later, and I was finishing up the last of the Hobgoblin Pike unit (64 figures), and had completed the Mounted (18 figures), the Axemen (24 figures), and the Archers (2 units, one of 8 archers, and one of 24).

How I would LOVE to have that kind of ability to focus and get into painting like that again.

I know that the focus will return as I paint more (and learn the subtleties of the newer paints I am using, which do not feel or work at all like the paints I used to use), but aging has eliminated the possibility of painting for more than about six hours at a time.

But... Having slept... I managed to get the command figures for my Hithaeglir Greater-Goblins nearly finished (I got the lead-foil standard cut, and I just need to pick out details on the four command figures). Plus I only have bits and pieces of the remaining 8 figures in the units to do, and their shields, before detailing the bases on the unit and calling it finished.

Imperial Assault: Under Siege

Rebel Scum have taken over and fortified an Imperial base!
The Empire wants it back. Unbeknownst to them, however... The mission is merely a decoy for a Rebel Commando strike elsewhere. - Can the Rebel Scum Heroes hold off the Galactic Empire for 8 rounds?

The Empire must capture 4 out of 5 rooms shown on the map. A room counts as captured when there is no 'unwounded' heroes in the room.

It's Round 7, near the end of the game and none other than Darth Vader enters the base, having been "recommended" by a nearby Imperial Officer to get a move on.

Jyn Odan, the Smuggler and Jedi Exile, Diala Passal, have successfully managed to defeat the two Trandoshan Bounty Hunters, however the Royal Guard continued to provide an obstacle for the jedi.

While the central junction was successfully defended against an Imperial Officer, Lord Vader had now arrived by was apparently just too far away for a successful Lightsaber strike.

Except... of course. The Dark Lord of the Sith has more tools at his disposal than a simple blade. He reaches his hand out to the belligerent wookiee.

Who begins to slip into unconsciousness... Now wounded like the Smuggler Jyn Odan and Veteran, Fenn Signis.

With 4 out of 5 objectives in Imperial hands at the end of Round 7.

Spoiler:
Imperial forces charge into the compound, and the Rebels are unable to hold them back any longer. Hoping the time they brought the other strike team to be enough, they quickly disengage.

Luck is on the Rebels side, after they've extracted, a transmission arrives from their commander. While she makes no mention of the Rebels efforts, instead focusing entirely on the findings of the other team....

"General Weiss is developing a weapon and High Command are very nervous about it...."

It's a draw.

Clean some more models... I need the fear of a comissar to keep me on track with model cleaning at this rate..I'm getting sick of doing it. I've been cleaning or building models since the beginning of the year. Mostly cleaning models.

Thus the folly of acquiring a swarm box and a hive mind box over the last 3 months....

Paiting on the hill and the Forge Fathers progresses. Have an airbrushed paint glaze to apply to the former and lots of detailing to do on the latter. If I finish that, on to snow application and cleaning up the bases (respectively), which will mean two more small projects done!

Still have tons of scattered WIPs - not sure what I'll tackle next. Should clean up the bench, will likely assemble some fantasy elves (Mantic) or work on a larger model kit (have an AMT Enterpise still mostly on the sprue and a Dust Königsluther I've broken down for cleanup and painting - both are boxed up and criminally neglected ).

Still painting that BTR-80 (truthfully I haven't touched it since my last post here) and tidying up some other bits so I can stick them up in my thread here. Besides the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. stuff (yeah that acronym isn't that hard to type after you've done it a hundred times...) I've started on another bit of terrain for Fallout, this time a small warehouse based off ones which appeared in the Hub from the first game. Got distracted and only half-finished yesterday's tasks. Hill is completely painted and ready for snow, Forge Fathers went untouched. Still have all the leathers, weapons, brass trim on the arms (bodies and helmets already done), and base cleanup to go.

Nursing a bit of a hangover, at the moment, so that will all have to wait until after I suffer through work. Hopefully, I'll be feeling human again by evening and can make some headway.

Still not 100% decided on my next project, but I'm currently leaning towards the Königsluther. It probably would have been fine to just paint it up as it came, but I went and decided to do it 'right,' meaning roughly five times the work for what may amount to no appreciable difference in the end result. LGS doesn't carry much of anything, in terms of non-GW hobby supplies, so I'm stuck with the Vallejo Plastic Putty and greenstuff I already have for filling gaps. I'd kill for a tube of Squadron green that I don't need to have shipped in! Anyway, I've already put a bit of work into the beast, so one more big push should see the cleanup/prep completed and the parts primer-ready.
