hi guys, i am going to be playing a 1000/1200 point battle with my orks against some imperial fists, they will have terminators with assault cannons which will rip my orks apart, if we play 1200 points i will also be opposing a land raider, this is the 1000 pts army i have come up with:

HQ

warboss- mega armour, cybork attack squig- 125

big mek-kmb-cybork-heavy armour-65

elites

5 burnas- mek-kmb-75

troops

10 shoota boyz- big shoota-nob-powerclaw-105

20 slugga boyz-2 big shootas-nob-140

10 slugga boyz-big shoota-65

5 nobz-100

deff dread- 2 big shootas-grot riggers-armour plates-100

heavy support

looted wagon-skorcha-big shoota-rokkit launcha-red paint-grot rigger-armour plates- reinforced ram-grabbing klaw-95

looted wagon- 2 big shootas- ard case- red paintjob- stikkbomb chukka- wrecking ball-75

killa kan-rokkit launcha-grot riggers-55

burnaz in 2nd looted wagon
10 sluggas in 1st looted wagon

my only concern is weapons to damage tanks and terminators, if we play 1200 points i will drop the killa kan and add a looted wagon with a boomgun.
what could i change in this army to damage terminators and land raiders?

the wrecking ball on the looted wagon gives a strength 9 attack

i played with world eaters, won 32 games lost 4.

Just FYI, Grot Riggers are useless on Killa Kans, because an immobilized result counts as destroyed - there will be no opportunity then to negate the result. It's wasted points. It shouldn't be in the codex, really.

Just a thought - you could give your Big Mek a Kustom Force Field that would give your Boyz a 5+ cover save, which would give them at least some save against the Terminator assault cannons.

Also, if you give your Killa Kans a Kustom Mega Blaster instead of a Rokkit launcher, you can get strength 8 AP 2 at Ballistic Skill 3. They also will not suffer from Gets Hot! wounds. That makes that realistically the most efficient way for Orks to get reliable single target AP2.

That said, the easiest way to take down those Terminators is going to be by assaulting them with a raging mass of Boyz. The sheer volume of attacks they generate - 3 on the charge for Shoota Boyz and 4 on the charge for Sluggas - is enough to kill even Terminators, and the volume of bodies is sufficient to absorb the few powerful strikes Terminators put back in return.

i would put a kff on the big mek but i have the kmb because of its ap and strength because of the army i am playing.
if i footslogged my boyz behind the deff dread and killa kan they would get a cover save wouldnt they?
i will put a kmb on the killa kan, would a rokkit launcha be effective against other armies or should i just stick a kmb on it?

If you get a Kustom Forcefield, your Kans will actually get a 4+ cover save. Your boyz walking behind the Kans would then also get a cover save for being behind the Kans.

The reason KMB isn't that great on infantry is that your Big Mek only has Ballistic Skill 2, meaning he only hits on a D6 roll of 5 or greater. By contrast, your Killa Kans would hit on a roll of 4 or greater. Your Kans also don't suffer wounds from the Kustom Mega Blasta's "Get's Hot!" rule. They're pretty much better platforms for the KMB all around.

That said, usually people just rely on Boyz to kill Terminators. As long as you can shoot them with a ton of Shoota Boy shots and then assault them with a 20 strong unit of Boyz, you should win. Add a Nob with a Power Klaw to your Boyz. The Power Klaw will ignore the Terminator's armor saves.

ok i will chop up some sprues up and stick them together in a sort of kff shape and pin it on so i can take it on and off thanks for the advice,
would a kmb damage a land raider? and would a kmb be better on a deff dread or killa kan, i could have 2 on a deff dread?

Pretty much nothing can damage a Land Raider aside from the following:

Deff Rollas, Killa Kans in close combat (strength 10), Deff Dreads in close combat, or a Warboss with a Power Klaw.

In fact, you can just try to rush his Land Raider with your Deff Dreads and a Power Klaw Warboss and chop them to bits. Then you don't have to shoot them.

Also, because they're power weapons, they can chop up Terminators really good too. The only problem is you have to get in close combat, and they'll probably shoot you as you're walking towards them.

If a Killa Kan or any vehicle from a squadron is alone it is treated like any other vehicle. So that lone Kan can use riggers.

Wrong. Immobilized only count as wrecked results when they are in a squadron he has just a single Killa Kan listed so it can be used so when it gets imobilized it is immobilized not a wreck. Kust thought I should point that out to avoid confusion.

You mean the vehicles they hit 1/3 of the time, glance 1/6 of the time after that, and actually do lasting damage 1/2 the time after that? There is literally a 2.7775% chance of doing lasting damage with a strength 8 weapon on AV14. With the sole exception of tankhammers, tankbustas aren't going to be hurting any AV14 reliably. The best way for Orks to deal with AV14 is power klaws, and one on a warboss is the best bet. The only other viable option is deffrollas on battlewagons, which rules.

Deff Rollas on Battlewagons is pretty much insane. That's a lot of s10 hits. Also add in the Wreckin' Ball and Boardin' Planks for giggles - especially if you run your warboss over the boardin' plank.

Your best chances of cracking a land raider is 3 tank hammers in a unit of tank bustas, warboss w/power klaw, or dread/kans. Any way you look at it, it will probably be in CC so you are going to need that kustom force field. I would also suggest that you make your boys and burna units bigger, they will probably be you primary marine killing units. 15 burnas in a battle wagon is nothing to laugh at

Whatever Jidmah recommends

But imho Orks worst enemy, bar tailoring is AV14, its uphill at best and caught by a 10 man Termi squad via LR insertion at worst.

Ideas? pfff TBs if you can tailor, KKs on the suicide run at it if you can spare them, DD but hes sooo slow :(

Warboss on a bike w/ PK if you can pop it and follow up with some support for him - keep it fast and moving.

In short :(

thanks for the advice guys, i will try and keep my orks in vehicles and cover so they dont get torn apart by the assault cannons and twinlinked lascannons

battlewagon with deffroller wrecking ball and boarding planks should do some damage to the land raider

I wasn't talking about shooting. If the rokkits do anything to the landraider, that's awesome, but just a bonus. Immobilized will spell doom for the landraider/monolith though.
I was talking about four attacks S9 from the PK, six attacks S10 from the tankhammers and twelve attacks S6 with 2d6 penetration from tankbusta bombs.

Get grots and convert them to be covered in tankbusta bomms, stikkbomms, grenades and whatever other ordnance you can find from the boyz box and whatever bits you have.

You could also model a mini-dread out of all the stikkbomb and tankbusta bomb bits(why are those in a boyz box, anyways?) found on sprues.
