Subject: 0x10^c - A New Sci-Fi Game from the Creator of Minecraft
Looks rather neat, but I wonder how exactly it'll play out before really committing.

Actually it has singleplayer without subscription, though I'll be subscribing and playing online. Its a persistent multiverse after all, and accurate physics....wow...Sounds awesome.

Accurite physics?

Fixed that for you

This happens.
Then you die before you find out what happens.

If enough people think like that, maybe he will do it that way. I certainly hope so.
EDIT: For now, it seems we are out of luck. From his FAQ:

What will be the price?
No price decided yet. But there will certainly be a monthly fee for playing on the multiverse since even when you will not be connected trajectory and your ship's computer will still be simulated.
Whaaaaaaaat ? Monthly fee ? But, but, but, free 2 play is the futur dude !
f2p is a scam.

But they've perfected deep sleep, and presumably at least near light speed travel.
So while it will take you 8 years to reach the edge of the solar system, that might only be 10 minutes subjective time. Of course, 16 years would pass on Earth in the time you travel to Pluto and back... It certainly would make tech upgrades easy.

If you read his "hard science" link, you'd notice that he has FTL travel listed as one of the exceptions.

I put in the "" smiley to indicate it was a joke, people. I'd be absolutely gobsmacked if he made the game have that much realism, requiring months and years of travel (IRL) to get to different planets.
