The heads are from the Necromunda House Goliath boxed set. When I was making the first squad, I wanted to go with helmeted heads, but they turned out to be way too big compared to the size of the torso's, so needed something smaller that fit the scale.

The reds are done by opening up with a quick coat of Mechrite Red. Purely to reduce the amount of layers I'd have to build over a white basecoat. Then it's about half a dozen thin layers of Scab Red to build up a solid coat. First stage of highlights is Blazing Orange, and then Golden Yellow to pick out the most upward facing edges. Finally, I use the old Red Wash (hex pot with the little blue cap - 10+ years old) to glaze the highlights waaaaaaay back down to that orangey shade, since Golden Yellow alone is just too yellow. The glazes are basically what make the colour, since Scab Red is pretty flat and dull up until that point. I'm honestly not sure how well it would work with the new Baal Red wash, so it's pretty fortunate that I still have some usable old paints I think, in the absense of the red wash, you might be able to achieve a similar result with Blood Red glazes, but it'd probably take 8-10 layers due to the lower pigment concentration compared to the old washes.

I haven't had the chance to use any of the new paints yet, so I don't know the names of the new versions of the colours unfortunately :/

I'll have to seek out there new equivalents
