Can an IC in terminator armor come down in a pod if attached to a unit in the pod? (assuming there's room of course)

I always thought termies couldn't use pods but now I'm starting to question my assumption.

I think he can use a pod if he's attached to a unit that has selected a pod as a transport. He'd take up 2 spaces as normal but I can't see why not.

I am almost positive that C:SM terminators can take a drop pod as a transport, for SW it's the only way to deep strike them.

It's not the size of the blade, it's how you use it.

Ive never known this to happen but i can't remember anything in the SM codex that says he can't so why not?

Actually, no you can't C:SM it's a 5 man terminator squad. Drop pods have space for 10 and terminators take up 2 slots so no you can't fit an IC and a terminator squad in a DP.

It's not the size of the blade, it's how you use it.

Hmmm... perhaps I didn't make myself clear. It's an IC in terminator armor attached to a normal squad (like a tac squad). Keeping in mind that the termie needs an extra slot.

Well if you have an 8 man tacticle squad then yes you can drop him down.

Except: don't you need a 10 man Tactical Squad to even take a drop pod? (C:SM, pg. 134) Still fits if you are Codex, but not anyone else.

Additionally, I believe that SM drop pods are Capacity 12, and the SW have a capacity 10. Just going from memory here.

Yup, C:SM Drop Pods hold 12, so 10 Power Armoured Marines and one Terminator Armoured IC is possible, In fact I do this with Lysander and a Sternguard squad.

If the thought of something makes me giggle for longer than 15 seconds, I am to assume that I am not allowed to do it.

Hmm you're right, that is odd. BA and SW have a 10 man drop pod but C:SM has a 12.

Nope. They could in the last codex, but not in the current one.

Wow a lot of dis-information in here. Lol

SM Pods can carry 12 so 10 PA guys and a Termy IC is fine.
BA and SW pods are 10 models so 8 plus the IC.

SW Termies can Pod because they're scared of teleporting.

Other chapters just Deep Strike with the Pod.

Also BA don't have to have 10 models in the unit to take a drop pod. (Don't know about SW). So maybe the thinking in C:SM was to make it 12 so you could still attach a terminator armored IC but in BA you can take the pod with 8 or fewer models and so still fit the termi-IC in?

Yes, in C: SM you can have your ten man squad and add a terminator IC, or a 10 man squad and up to two power-armored ICs, for that matter.

In BA or SW you have to use a smaller squad, as their pods only have capacity 10.

The same is the case with Phobos (normal, with lascannons) pattern Land Raiders. Codex Marines get two extra transport spots, so can fit a character in TA or two in power armor in with a five man terminator squad.

I think Phobos is a FW varient, Godhammer is the one you mean, ok so maybe vanilla marines have some advantages.

You may be thinking of the Helios. Godhammer is the pattern of the lascannons on the Phobos. People often inaccurately call the Phobos the Godhammer. One of the few pieces of fluff that I consistently remember.

To encourage them to fight harder! The impact of the landing shakes up the beer, they then have the time it takes to settle to finish the battle. Go!
