Subject: BLOOD ANGELS USING NEW GW PAINT - NOW WITH PRIMER COMPARISONS

On the left, I have primed the model grey, basecoated Mephiston Red, Layered Evil Sunz Scarlet, washed Carroburg Crimson, reapplied Evil Sunz Scarlet, then edge highlighted with Wild Rider "Red" (that color is so orange >_>  .
On the right, I basecoated Mephiston Red over black primer, washed Carroburg Crimson, reapplied Mephiston Red, then did two layer highlights of Evil Sunz Scarlet then Wild Rider Red.
Which one do you all like better? I'm thinking I like the more burning/intense red of Mephiston Red. The Evil Sunz Scarlet IS Khador Red Base. I held that termie I painted with KRB next to it and they are the same dang color.

The right one imo is better, especially if you say the left one is more orange in person.
May I ask, how many layers did it take to get an even coat, just one?

It certainly did not cover well over black in 1 coat. GW's marketing is full of lies for the new line to be quite honest. Carroburg Crimson is awesome, but you definitely have to reapply the basecoat, as it STAINS LIKE CRAZY. It's like flooding a model with Badab Black, even if you do it lightly and controlled flow into the recesses.
And the GW comparison chart is WACK. Mephiston Red is way closer to Blood Red than Evil Sunz Scarlet, and Wazdakka Red is no where NEAR Red Gore. It's like a weird pinky/red.

In the most recent picture they all look pretty good but I like grey the most. I may try grey myself now.

I'm still pretty new and don't like the paint job I have and I know how to strip my models, I'm looking for a bright color scheme for the red which would recommend, priming white or grey, and which order should I go with? (and by order I mean the actual reds and stuff) Btw this is very informative, and actually like the new colors even though some are a bit watery

Well, you're outcome as been different from mine.
I primed one white and one black. My white primed one didn't look orange at all but just a brighter red while the black primed one was just darker and all I used was Mepheston Red.
